He wrote some great songs. The best known here in the U-S-of-A is Yesterday When I Was Young, which has been covered by many. Here's an article on him along with the song I noted in English and French.

My parents always played his records, what a singer.

Merci monsieur Aznavour pour tous les chansons.

Who shall be Charles Aznavour when Charles Aznavour is gone? That`s what he implicitly asks in one of his songs sung by Dusty Springfield, not sure which.

My late beloved mother loved him, so that's how I got to know his songs, although I didn't like at that time, especially being a child. Only after growing up I could see how talented was this man. RIP, Monsieur Aznavour. A true legend is gone but he will not be forgotten, for sure.

Dylan said CA was one of the most potent influences he had in the early 60's : if CA could make a career with such a distinctive voice Dylan thought he could too.

In 1998 Bob sang a great cover of "Les bons moments"/The Times We've Known".I wonder if he'll play it again live in the coming days...

RIP Charles ! It's often said when a great man passes but this is truly the end of an era...

Wonder what he was doing with Mick on February 10th, 2017 (the date of the picture above).

He was 94 and still very active! He had just come back from two dates in Japan, had taped a show on French TV on Thursday, and was about to hit the road again in November.
