«Steely Dan» will play The Nightfly?
Interesting...
A bit like Mick playing She's The Boss, billed as the Stones - without Keith

Not really. People still like and respect The Nightfly.
Great album...it's considered among audiophiles one of the cleanest, best-produced albums of all time.Quote

For me at the time, it was basically a continuation of Steely Dan proper.
Great well written tunes along with stellar musicianship - not to mention Fagan's vocals.
Looking at the credits now, interesting to see Steve Jordan played on one of the tunes.

Those Steely Dan chords are awesome I like the way they took major chords and added the bass note it his a challenge for me to learn their songs on guitar especially playing classic rock and blues all these years. Anyway always trying to learn new stuff.

They sure used risky lyrics back then - lets go down lowhand road sure rivals
the lemon song.
