Oh damn, what a shame for all who were attending.

Thankfully it's nothing serious as it's being rescheduled soon though. thumbs up

And hopefully those who can't make it have the option for a refund.

Obviously people who purchased tickets to the show wouldn't have bought the tickets in the first place if they believed the show was gonna be "a snooze fest" ...

But yes, too bad for the ticket buyers' disappointed by having last night's show postponed.
And too bad for those ticket buyers that can't make to the rescheduled show and are now forced to get a refund.

Michael McDonald is a God according to my cousin. She informed me of this in a postcard a few years back which featured a pic of the Stones promoting one of their tours in the 70s. I can't remember which one but the Doobies were opening for them. She was aware that McDonald hadn't yet joined the band but she was drunk...she informed me of that also. She's my favorite cousin.

«Steely Dan» will play The Nightfly?

Interesting...

A bit like Mick playing She's The Boss, billed as the Stones - without Keith winking smiley

If it were up to Fagen, he would prefer to call the post-Becker touring incarnation of the band as “Donald Fagen and the Steely Dan Band.”

“I would actually prefer to call it Donald Fagen and the Steely Dan Band or something like that,” he said, noting that promoters have so far insisted that he call it Steely Dan for commercial reasons. “That’s an ongoing debate. To me, Steely Dan was just me and Walter, really – it was like a concept we had together.”

Great album...it's considered among audiophiles one of the cleanest, best-produced albums of all time.

thumbs up
For me at the time, it was basically a continuation of Steely Dan proper.
Great well written tunes along with stellar musicianship - not to mention Fagan's vocals.
Looking at the credits now, interesting to see Steve Jordan played on one of the tunes.

It's one of my faves...produced by longtime Dan producer Gary Katz and featured many of the same session musicians from their last few albums.

True, hence "a bit".

Another duo/band I never got. I like some of their songs, but never got into any particular album by them. Steely Dan has always struck me as one of those bands you were supposed to like because of the cleverness/sophistication of the music, the (witty) lyrics, whatever, and if you weren't into them, than something must be amiss with you and your musical tastes. I can put the late Frank Zappa into this category also.

Different strokes...it’s cool

I’ve always loved Jazz...for me that is what holds a lot of the appeal of Steely Adan & Donald Fagen’s solo music

I like Kamakiriad better (less cheesy synths), but that's a solo album in name only smiling smiley Both are very good, though.

Those Steely Dan chords are awesome I like the way they took major chords and added the bass note it his a challenge for me to learn their songs on guitar especially playing classic rock and blues all these years. Anyway always trying to learn new stuff.

They loved the sus2 chord - ex. Csus2 adding a 2nd to the major chord.

I like Steely Dan...but it Doesn't matter much to me who's in the band proper.

My favourite bits were always played by folks not really in Steely Dan ..

Elliot Randall & Larry Carlton for example.winking smiley

Yes - Ricki don't loose that number comes to mind with Dsus2 to Asus to E.

Sometimes the piano parts on all their songs sound better than on guitar.

They sure used risky lyrics back then - lets go down lowhand road sure rivals
the lemon song.

Misheard lyric?

“I have a friend in town, he's heard your name
We can go out driving on Slow Hand Row
We could stay inside and play games, I don't know
And you could have a change of heart”
