it's $52.01 on USA Amazon, so this is a deal, but a few questions:

will it play on DVD and Blu Ray players in the US, is it Pal and what about the regions issue?

R they available in Blu Ray?

I thought some of these had been released as DVD or Blu Ray with CD combination, so I guess these leave the CDs out.

cheap but useless – since most of us will already own most of these DVDs and this offer comes without the CDs

i paid £27 last year in paris for my first vaults album, la forum, but i got the dvd and cd. others that i have bought back in scotland which have been hampton, leeds and live at the marquee all with dvd and cd have cost around £17.

was tempted to buy from amazon last year, but amazon dosent always stipulate exactly what your getting. fine if your buying a film dvd or a t-shirt, but not combinations of dvd/cd/vinyl/deluxe/non deluxe, amazon is poor in that respect. at least in the shop you can see what your buying.

Do you people watch DVD:s these days? I find my DVD/bluray-player mostly collecting dust nowadays. I tend to watch clips on Youtube instead. Where most of them are available.

Same goes for me. ...the quality is great and it's all about the music

I use youtube quite a bit as well, but buying the physical product gives you art and liner notes as well. Yes it is all about the music, but I like to have the other things as well. Same reason as why buy CDs and vinyl, especially vinyl.

I still need to know the answers to my question, to wit:

will it play on DVD and Blu Ray players in the US, is it Pal and what about the regions issue?

The DVDs are NTSC and Region 0 according to the Backcover and should be therefore playable in the US:

well, these are not blu-ray disks, just DVDs. Does it really make any difference in quality since these were all recorded before HD quality existed. Would blu ray video quality (or audio) be any better than that of DVD?

The SD (Standard Definition) Blu-ray picture is only up-scaled in comparison to the DVD.

'L.A. Forum - Live In 1975' is only available on DVD - [www.StonesFromTheVault.com] .

The Audio on DVD is lossy Dolby Digital Stereo while it's lossless LPCM on SD Blu-ray.

From the SD Blu-ray Backcover:

"Eagle Vision's SD Blu-ray range presents upscaled standard definition original material with uncompressed stereo and DTS-HD Master Audio 96/24 surround sound for the best possible quality."

yes dammit, i shoulda got it, but maybe it is better to have the blu ray edition and with CDs, neither of which this has. But it was so cheap i shoulda done it anyways. I am filled with remorse.

i see the link to amazon.de lists something blu-ray 3D. What is that?

Keep checking. I didn't bite right away as I was on holiday so the package couldn't be delivered. When I got back, it had gone up to £60 plus. I kept checking and bought it last week for about £24. The price seems kinda fluid. I put it on my Amazon wish list and checked every couple of days.

The quality of YouTube does not match Blu-ray in a Hi-Fi rig.

YouTube is just the "lazy" way of doing things.
