Keef, if your property is on the market (esp the current real estate market) for longer than a couple of months weeks, the price is too damn high!

Took more than two years and a few price drops, but it's now under contract - apparently at less than the original purchase price.

From the picture I can understand why he wants to get rid of it.

It is clear why it is selling for a loss.

I wouldn't be able to live in something like that either.

FYI - Keef never stepped foot in this apartment. It was purely an investment.
I live right across the way from this building at 1 University Place.
I have a view of the building and the apartments terraces.
I have never once seen anyone inside of it (besides workers) and have friends that live in 1 Fifth ave and they never saw Keef or Patty there.
Bad investment I guess? The real estate market here in NYC has reached its bubble point.

I don't get that. What's the point in refurbishing a property if your desire is to sell it. Wouldn't it be more simple to empty it totally, paint the walls white and let potential buyers imagine what they'd do with the place.

The new owner won't most probably like what this Cheryl Eisen has done and will order the makeover to be taken down.

Sure, in a standard apartment maybe. To sell luxury is another thing I guess. And I'm sure the furnishing is v-e-r-y expensive. I would keep it as it is. More or less. Change a few things maybe.

It's called home staging and it gets more and more popular not only for luxury apartments. The idea is. If people see the appartment furnished they can rather imagine it as a home. The Furniture usually don' t stay in the appartment. They are rented from companies that are specialized in home staging

I know, Sam. But maybe you can get a deal with the furniture included? If the price is right... I would. That would perhaps be the only bargain considering the price...

Like I said in an earlier post on this thread, They never stepped foot in that apartment. It was a bad investment from the beginning.
Not that this will hurt them financially.
Also, it seems Keef and Patty enjoy their place in Conn.
The real estate market in Manhattan has reached its bubble point.
Time to buy!

Do Keith and Patti have a 'main' home in NYC? In other words, a 'proper' home...and not one like this pad which seems to have been an investment purchase.

I dont think Patty & Keef own a place in Manhattan anymore?
Their main home is in Connecticut about an 1.5hrs out of Manhattan.
They probably get a nice hotel or stay with Theodora or one of their many friends if needed.
