Stones or other look-alikes in your own personal life?

I use to go to a nightclub and there was this guy who must have been trying to look like Keith Richards because he really did, make that '70s era, must have been a real Rolling Stones fan. This was not that long ago and the club only closed when the anti- smoking smiley laws came about. That made me always wonder. I read too about a similar case in the book "Among the thieves." Made me curious but in the loud music I really did not think to strike up much of a conversation.

For another look-alike, I also knew this guy who really did get the typical unshaved David Beckham look down except I think you'd say he had chicken-legs (Thin bony legs. Typically found on someone who is very skinny- Urban Dictionary). I thought it was obvious this guy was trying to look like Beckham with even the highlights in his hair but he certainly pulled it off.

I probably did once see a kid at a Mall who had the long hair parted down the middle and wire-framed glasses John Lennon look as well.

Ain't nothing more pathetic than someone trying to look like someone other than who he/she is.

I don't find a problem with it.

Take the Beckham example, if the guy could pull it off, why not? Maybe it was mainly a fashion statement. I mean Beckham is one guy who has influenced the scene in modern times.

I do realise a person is their own person. Why try and look like someone else? The John Lennon example I saw by the way in a mall in Evansville Indiana, it was sort of like a tribute or something.

In a way, people just growing their hair long might have been a trend set by the rock groups.

In the Hooligans book "Among the thieves", I couldn't tell whether the likeness was intentional or not but the Mancunian, person from Manchester looked that way, coincidence or not.

what?! I guess it's natural. we see somebody good-looking and we want to like like him. or want someone else to look like him. I wouldn't mind a girlfriend that'd look like Kate Moss!
hey Edith, Stephen Fry for example. can there be a better Oscar Wilde copy? ;-)

or a friend from my former class. she looks like Bill Wyman - totally. and - I think - unintentionally! ;-)

Nothing natural with trying to look like someone else.

Adopting a style that you think might look good on you is one thing, but trying to physically imitate another person,
IMO, would be a symptom of low self esteem or some similar problem.

This isn't a good picture of Beckham and usually there is more of an unshaved look but the hair style is there, I guess someone might get the highlights too, I thought the guy looked cool with the look and that was here in the USA.

Wow! That's a really generic-looking style !

I'm suprised Beckham would go with that.

I think most of us know of the many looks of David Beckham but the one that stands out to me is the hair piled high in the middle on top and being unshaven. Maybe the first picture just doesn't show the hair style as much to some people but most of us all know the various styles of David Beckham.

There is a British guy named Terry who used to work at the Greenhouse coffeeshop on Warmeostraat in Amsterdam. Looks just like Mick Jagger. Cool guy.

Tis totally natural to want to incoprorate something you like or love to be part of who you are. It happens to varying degrees sub consciously anyway.

Copying and/or being inspired or put off by someone's else's look is just the same as copying and/or being inspired or put off by someone else's music.

Some folks just look like other people, or share similar mannerisms etc, some people take inspiration because they like certain aspects of someone else, others out right clone their whole look upon someone else's... I find out right clones, those who go for the whole image, mannerisms and all a bit odd, but so long as you aren't hurting anyone what the hell does it matter?

I totally like Brian and Keith hair and clothes circa 1966 and I try to incorporate atleast some aspects of that look in to my own look... funny though cos I just end up looking like Johnny Marr trying to look sixties. grinning smiley

My sister-in-law looks like Bill Wyman from the 60's & 70's. Thought about posting a pic, but then decided it might be best if I don't. Take my word for it!

I know a person, he's still a big hair dude and I think, dude! eye rolling smiley People copy styles, etc. not always for the best, with the footballers, I think Beckham set off a bit of a trend, maybe even for tattoos, though the chap I know I don't think carries any tattoos.

I know of a few "Carbon copy people" that probably don't even realise they're a lookalike and even if they did they wouldn't care less really
