Never a real fan, but grew to like and appreciate him and some of the music.

Lost me in recent years though with his appearances on Reality tv shows like The Apprentice and Real Housewives of Wherever (none of which I saw) though.

He is playing in the Buffalo area in August with his entire original band, the B52's all original members, and half of the Thompson Twins.

Ricky Wilson - original lead guitarist and mastermind behind their best tunes- died in 1985.
Keith Strickland - original drummer - switched to lead guitar after Wilson's death.
So technically yes all original members, but not the original lineup.

So would you consider it a worthy show to see?

Well I suppose if you're a fan of their music?
I only liked there first two albums from '79/80 (Rock Lobster, Planet Claire, Private Idaho,et al), but not much after that as the novelty sort of wore off.
That said, I would see them if it was free.

I thought Culture Club was his original band?

I guess we learn something new every day smiling smiley

Loved the feud he had with Keith in the 80s. Never liked his music.

"half of the Thompson Twins".

Half of the Thompson Twins...so that leaves only one of them? The Thompson Twin?

Yes I realize they were a band with more than two members originally, but thought that sounded funny.
Only song I know from them is Hold Me Now that oversaturated mtv back in the early '80's...could have been by a number of similar new wave bands...not a fan.

They - Culture Club - are in the middle of a pretty substantial US and Canada tour. All original members resolved their differences and Boy George is still a great singer. Can't say I'm a big fan but those 80's singles really do stand the test of time!

I don't think Keith tours with them anymore, so it's down to Fred and the girls. Saw them in 1990 at the Aztec Bowl in San Diego (in the midst of their "Cosmic Thing" comeback), and again in 1998 - both excellent, fun shows.
