Mick looks like an evil doppelganger with that haircut! That Steel Wheels dew he wore was never one of my favorite Mick Jagger looks.

This is a great interview from ABC's 20/20 with Stone Philips back in '89:

Lots of good concert footage...
I couldn't BELIEVE the way he was snarling his way through those lyrics...I've never seen him perform like that post-'89.Quote

I watched that many times, and it’s still on VHS somewhere in the depths of my attic. Mick is absolutely on fire in that clip of “Sympathy.” I could never track down the full performance. I think it’s in Toronto, but not the ‘89 Toronto that’s in wide circulation. Anyone know?

Zentgraf says it might come from East Troy.
Since they played 3 shows there it might be a solid option

What the hell led the Stones to play THREE shows in East Troy, Wisconsin, of all places? Seems like a very odd and random spot to play three gigs, let alone one.
I get that, but it's still such a strange part of a relatively small state to focus on. But hey, as long as they made their money and the fans left happy.Quote

They hadn’t toured in eight years. Demand was off the charts. Tickets were still affordable.

To disappear farther down this fun rabbit hole, here’s the wiki entry on the venue:
[en.m.wikipedia.org]
“The theatre is located roughly equidistant between Madison, Milwaukee, Rockford, and Chicago, and therefore draws a wide regional audience.
“Alpine Valley is generally considered the Milwaukee stop on major tours and the Chicago stop when the act doesn't perform in Illinois.”
Location aside, it’s a “shed”-style amphitheater. They couldn’t have fit the whole stage in it (the original topic of this thread), could they?

They had a chip on their shoulder with something to prove again. We should be so lucky to have a tour concept now based around a new album. Not everyone's favourite time period but I did not mind. Ushered in the mega themed tour concepts with songs that hit radio play again.

Also...there's no way in hell any shed in America could have accommodated the Steel Wheels stage.
