You know who. He's standing on stage during Under My Thumb, chewing his mouth with anger. He's furious, ready to kill someone. I don't think I've ever seen an angry face like that. Jagger's looking really frightened. Why is he so angry? The camera doesn't take focus off him for several minutes. Did he get his motor cykel destroyed? The camera never tells.

Show a picture so I know which guy you're talking about. But the Hells Angel guy they show for a few minutes was just stoned out of his mind. He's just in another galaxy, I doubt that's anger. Then the guy with the short hair yanks him about a bit...

I've heard that the main reason for the violence in front of the stage was due to demolision of the bikers bikes. Keith writes in his book that the Angels simply parked their bikes in front of the stage. This is not shown in Gimme Shelter. I wonder what he sees in the audience. It looks like he's trying to control his anger and not killing anybody.

That angry Angel your talking about didn't like Jagger at all, saw him a few years ago in a interview and his comments were: Jagger was up there saying: Baby
Baby,etc -with a smirk on his face, and that wasn't a Angel who he threw off the stage, just some stoned hippie who managed to get up there. That Angel did like:
Under My Thumb - he's rocking out some on that number.

yes it is , you can see them riding their bikes through the audience to the front during the day and one actually gets pushed over during the first verse of UMT and they're struggling to get it back up

It was a smart move parking their bikes at the front of the stage before a major free concert started.

Possibly the most surreal, and (in my opinion) best rock movie ever.
Dog wandering around on the stage .. bikes being pulled up from underneath the crowd .. Angels tripping and getting thrown off the stage.

Must've seen it around 100 times now it still shocks.

Most of this "Angels behaviour" can be seen in "Gimme Shelter" pity, all the Stones wanted to do was give a free concert. I feel the stage was a rushed job and WAY to low for such a big event,but thats all in yester-year

Wonder if the audio of Altamont lurks in the Stones vaults?

Yeah, I've seen Sonny Barger on the History Channel in a show about the history of the Hell's Angels (Altamont was discussed briefly) and they showed him now as well as pictures from back then, and that guy is not him.

As for why he looks so angry, I think it's just a clash of cultures. The Hell's Angels are a motorcycle gang, a bunch of macho men, tough guys, etc. And here's Jagger in front of him with his somewhat feminine behavior, thrusting his little pelvis all over the place, talking about peace and love. I would imagine to some Alpha Male, Mick was a disgusting little specimen of a man. A dandy little man dancing around.

Yeah I don't think it had as much to do with tripping as it did with crystal meth. They used to deal that sh*t back in the day. Of course they still do.

I know I know, its a terrible moment.... but I just love the bit where Mick tries to cool everyone and then Keith starts a funky riff and then Bills awesome fat bass comes in.
