"All three albums have been meticulously mastered from high resolution audio files sourced from the original master tapes, assuring optimal sound quality that exceeds both conventional CD audio and digital downloads."

The source is the same as the previous ABKCO vinyl reissues, ie the 2002 DSD digital files.

Is there a "quality" difference between black and transparent vinyl? If the 2002 source is the same where's the benefit?

One more thing, it would be creative to add some extras, like some true stereo tracks.

I've heard once you've had black you never go back.

I might go for Hot Rocks. All of the ABKCO vinyl has been very good.

There might very well be. Colored vinyl (colored anything other than black) tends not to sound as good as black vinyl, but black vinyl is itself colored vinyl. Vinyl is clear in its natural state.

There is one option: DON'T BUY IT! That some people think they just HAVE to buy EVERYTHING is not the record companies faults. They make an offer and people can refuse to buy it.

There is a market for those reissues, just keep them coming.

people like you are not part of the solution, they're part of the problem, or something.

Yeah, keep'em coming. I was debating whether or not to make a trip to IKEA to buy another billy bookcase...I guess that decision is now made.

OK, post TORONTO 2 update...

Whilst in Toronto for the Stones show, I went to Sunrise Records on Yonge Street (close to Bloor) and bought these.

I thought hey, I don`t buy t-shirts, posters and programs, so this is my tour souvenir.

Has anyone bought it and opened it...Boston will appreciate this...I have it but haven`t opened it. I want to know what the label looks like!

Like the 2003 reissues. Picture labels showing part of the artwork.

thx, ok that makes sense. They even use the same covers, which are dated 2003. I kind of would have liked it dated for this year, given it is a new release.

Damn I'm picky.

Yeah, even though I don't mind the toilet version, there is something about the original cover...it's simple and classic.

I couldn't find any info on the ABKCO website, but I've read that there's other releases on clear vinyl to be released on May 6th: 12x5, Through the Past, Darkly - Big Hits vol. 2 and Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!

Uh oh, here we go again. I bought last year's set, still haven't opened them.

I guess I need to decide if I'm going to make a little more room on the shelf this year.

I wonder if Through The Past, Darkly will be the UK or US version?
12X5 will make it's debut on remastered vinyl.

12X5 - with the stereo mixes for the first time on vinyl?

It's the US version:
1. Paint It, Black
2. Ruby Tuesday
3. She's a Rainbow
4. Jumpin' Jack Flash
5. Mother's Little Helper
6. Let's Spend the Night Together
7. Honky Tonk Women
8. Dandelion
9. 2000 Light Years from Home
10. Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby Standing in the Shadow?
11. Street Fighting Man

Octagon cover like on the recent box set?

I have some original stereo versions of 12x5, so it wouldn't be the first time on vinyl, or are you referring to first time reissues?

I think that the 2002 DSD remasters included for the first time (on CD) part of the tracks on REAL stereo... not sure right now.

As opposed to 'electronically reprocessed stereo'? I'm not too sure either.
