Hmmm.

Nowhere To Run smoking smiley

Yeah, just with the addition of the organ/chorus chordal bit it sounds like a odd stepping stone from Nowhere to Run - Jumpin' Jack Flash.

The stepping stone Keith, in his peculiar way, has talked about smiling smiley

Just stumbled across this on Universal Germany's website.
I don't recall seeing it being posted by an official source before, are we to read anything into it?
Maybe a DVD of sixties promo videos perhaps?

It stands to argue if Mick really did say "watch it" as opposed to "what shit" in the beginning of this track. Waht's your take?

I call all native speakers to deal with this shit; I´m only a native listener.

I've always heard it as "One...Two" and still do.

It's definitely "watch it" after listening to the intro like 5 times in a row. You can make out the "tch" sound. "What shit" is not what he's saying lol

Sounds like "one, two" studio version, but on YaYa's sounds like "watch it".

I think it's "watcha"

English young person slang for hello.
Back in the day.

Nice find, Deltics. It seems like it's a bonus on the LET IT BLEED 50th ANNIVERSARY SET. Similar to the one included on the third set of SINGLES 1968-1971 from ABKCO.

Sounds plausible. In the Harry Potter novels there is a character who says "Wotcher" is that the same thing?

Check out the clip posted by deltics above. It's definitely 100% "watch it", also halfway the song. Seems logical too in the dark context.

It might actually be "wokka"

Just listened to the Rock and Roll Circus version again and it is my personal favorite (other than the studio original). Just ass kicking Keith on rhythm. Stripped down to basics.

Just went reverse on that quest and dug out the song the yankee version does not have. [www.youtube.com] This is way overlooked, I mean I remember hearing it years ago but it ended up some place in my brain I can't deliberately access. Thanks Hopkins

?? How could anyone question the fact that he says "Watch it!"?? I've known that since 1968 and I wasn't even born then!!

It's kinda Chapter A 1 in the Rock n Roll Bible, just like a-wop-bah-be-luba-a-wop-bam-boo etc etc

That is a good one. I used to have a playlist of notable JJF covers but many links are invalid now. Here's a reggae take on it that I enjoy a lot [www.youtube.com]

Shit, this track sounds so good in all its incarnations and covers. Such a damn good song, even a polka version would probably work.
