OT: 50 Best Rock Albums 1970

Yeah, another clickbait list, but I read through it and realized I bought - and still have - all but 13 of the albums listed. The list made me once again note that we had some really good music going on back then.

I have 20 of them in my collection.

Can't agree with Let It Be belonging in there, though. By far the weakest «album» from The Beatles, imo (Across The Universe is ace, though).

GYYYO, Live at Leeds, Moondance, After The Gold Rush, Lola and probably a few of the others will accompany me to my desert island.

Mind you I am planning to have quite a big record collection on my desert island.

I;m missing 9 of them. Sorry, can't do no Cat Stevens, Randy Newman.

Even more incredible, they missed Deep Purple in Rock.

It's funny how 1970 seemed a bit of a "gap year" between 1969 and 1971. There were of course many great albums, but defenitely not as many as year before and year after.

Sigh... I have some of those albums but I know about 80% of them.

If you had an article for the 50 best rock albums of 2007 I would probably come up goose eggs.

You sure Jethro Tull`s Benefit belong in there? It was great in it`s time, but has it aged well? There are about 3 good songs, but the rest is a lot of stop/start prog.

McCartney, really? I like the album but cmon, it’s 70% filler. Lennons solo debut (yes i know) is one of rocks masterpieces, still to this day.

That is a pretty serious list of great music - wow all in one year. Must have been expensive to be a big music fan that year! I think as far as studio albums I'd give the nod to Lennon's as the best - it's still an amazing record imo. Cat Stevens, Rod Stewart, CCR, Harrison - all pretty amazing too. It's kind of funny, I think 1970 was the first calendar year the Stones did not release a new studio album right?

What a year for Live as well, Get Yer YaYa and Who's Leeds - both amazing to this day.
