That’s too bad. I enjoy the Chicago blues clubs which seem to be regaining popularity. I’m surprised this place in NYC is closing. Take the opportunity to see Buddy. His show is surprisingly similar to the other Chicago blues shows (similar set lists and even humor, “someone stepping in while you stepping out” etc) but he stands out as an excellent musician and showman. Buddy is one of my favorite openers for the Stones.
No surprise here, 42nd st is turning into Disney World!! Saw some great shows there and the room had a great vibe when it was GA. The $12 beers and $15 cocktails did not help its appeal. Going to Times Square on a weekend night kind of sucked also. They did book some good shows there, i imagine the new Sony Hall or the new Grand Old Opry will take up most of the shows that were booked at BB's. But yes, the rents just to dam high!! All the good NYC shows are in Brooklyn now.
