A few weeks back I was at the sound check for Stone Raiders, consisting of Darryl Jones on Bass, Will Calhoun on Drums, and Jean-Paul Bourelly on guitar.

If you're a fan of Jazz/Fusion (read: Jaco Pastorius), then you'll love this group, they are to Jazz what Cream was to blues-rock.

Very serious trio of musicians, with mad skills and really nice guys. I did interview them (to be published later).

The Stone Raiders at Liemert Park

I saw them 35 km away from my hometown in Husum in 2012!
A great band playing unusual stuff for a R&R-fan,
but interesting anyway. They are all great musicians.

I managed to get autographs by Darryl (he signed the
Live licks booklet - the best service the CD could do)
and Will Calhoun signed his drumstick for me. I asked him
if Living Colour would tour again or make an album.
He said: "Yes." But that´s already six years ago.

when I look at Darryl, the first word that comes to my mind is solid !

I was at a Stone Raiders concert in 2012 in Germany (Gotha). This was an incredible show, a small venue and the guys played the heart and the soul ... Don't miss it when it may be comes into town again ...
