it occurs to me you've left out the single category with the largest representation:

the permanently banned

these are the posters who have been banned for bad behavior and now post under new identities.

yeah, sort of the graveyard. We should start a Memorial thread and honor our fallen comrades.

sounds fitting. i think the fallen comrades should start this and honor themselves and we can take it from there...or something.

15. The "I love to hate the band" fans.

Ppl prompt to point out everythng that's wrong with the band. From the handful of failed shows the band played, to Jagger's solos ventures, to Ron Wood's socks on the last tour, to the humongous sound level at Keith's 1992 gigs, to the 2011 overdubs on 1978 recordings... they're NEVER satisfied.

I'm afraid I fall into this category... confused smiley

the never satisfied fans are the true fans and the only ones who really matter.

Hard for them to do if they are banned.

There needs to be a...

The Jonesites for fans who think the original Brian Jones era band was the best.

Not all those who specifically prefer the Jones era are crackpot conspiracy theory types. They may just prefer their stones without the flowery guitar hero solos of the Taylor era or the later disco infused comedy rock of the Wood era.

Good thread 71Tele. thumbs up

Hard to say, but there seems to be a lot of em and they make any musical discussions about Brian hard going, as do those who despise the little fella.

It is true that there are Jones-era fans and Jones crackpot conspiracy theorists, and the Jones-era fans should not be confused with the other type. Personally, I love the Jones era. Or rather the two Jones era: The blues purist one and the pop one. Both great.

Wait...I've just come out of it.

I like the thread now. I'm glad we had this talk!

There are plenty of crackpots to go around. Where are the Charlie crackpots? Like I said, make your own categories to your heart's content. This is a democratic process.

3. The Taylorites: People who believe the band was at its peak from 1969-1974.

That is a good summation of me.

My first Stones purchase was a box set -- Rolling Stones: Mick Taylor Years.

Greetings from the Jersey Shore.

That's a good idea. Some of the ones I would have put on there have come back, though: Sir Craven of Cottage, Honestman, stonerelics (or something like that).

Greetings from the Jersey Shore.

2. The "True Fans": Everything the Rolling Stones has ever done is equally great. Dirty Work? As great as Exile. Vegas era? As great as 1972. Chuck? As great as Ian Stewart. It's all good. Any sentiment to the contrary is "negativity

that is me I guess smiling smiley
