Brian Palastanga, Tom Keylock, Sam Cutler, Tony Sanchez

Has anyone a clue on what happened with these guys:

- Brian Palastanga: Brian Jones' driver in the late sixties. Supposedly stopped him from comminting suicide by jumping on River Thames.
- Tom Keylock: Last thing I know was this sworn affidavit stating that it was Thoroughgood who "did Brian".
- Sam Cutler: Was never contacted again by the Stones after Altamont.
- Tony Sanchez: No idea. Just know of his book.

I once read that Keylock said that Jagger overwent a dramatic change in the beginning of the seventies. Anyone who reminded him of the past (say, the Cheyne Walk years) had to leave.
Does any of you remain in contact with any of these individuals (maybe Gazza?)

I've never even HEARD of the first guy you've mentioned!

Tom Keylock was involved in the making of the new Brian movie Stoned and Tony Sanchez is dead, or is he?

I've never heard of Sam Cutler either!

Sam Cutler was the Stones road manager for the 1969 tour.
He is in a few scenes of Gimme Shelter setting up the Altamont concert.
On Ya Yas he is the one introducing the "everyone seems to be ready"
He came up with the moniker"The greatest rock and roll band in the world"
After the altamont fiasco he went to work for the Dead.

What was Sanchez' cause of death?
Drugs-overdose?

i tried to check about spanish tony recently, but
i could not get any new informations via net.
it was "his" book "up and down with the rolling stones",
that changed me from a normal stones-listener to
an afficionado.
i was 14 when a friend of mine lend me the book and told
me, that even for someone who does not know the band
this book would be very entertaining.
he was true.
we were hippies then and i was very interested in drug-relating
anecdotes, and there were lots...
understandable keith immediately became my hero, and i spent
a long time using him as a role-model.
luckily some of my experiments did not go on as long as his did.
now i am 43, mostly drugfree and i cut down alcohol and fags
to a level, that makes me hope to reach their age...
the book was long out of print in germany, but i found it in a
second-hand book shop. one of the few books i read two times...
in the early 90s they put it out again and there was a small part
added, where tony told about the time inbetween and meeting keith
some time ago and beeing afraid, he would be angry about the book.
so in the early 90s sanchez still was alive.
by the way - then i read it for the third time.
if anybody knows something about tony sanchez, i would be very
pleased to read about it.

Apparently, this is Brian Palastanga on the right of the picture, with Anna Wohlin

Sam Cutler now lives in Australia, still involved in the music business

Tony Sanchez died in 2000, according to the latest edition of Up and Down With The Rolling Stones (now called "I was Keith Richards' Drug Dealer")

In his book reissued as "I was Keith Richards drug dealer" from 2003 there is a picture of Tony at the last page with undertext "Died peacefully 14th june 2000". Sorry I don`t know more.

Can't find anything on Sanchez' death.
Saw a small interview with him somewhere in the 90's. He wasn't changed that much.
Think he was about same age as Keith.

Bear something in mind: I have never read the books by Sanchez, but in Victor Bockris' Biography of Keith, he states: "Of course Tony didn't write it himself, he hired someone off Fleet Street to write it for him. But yeah, it's basically all true". What I also read is that in all his junkie period Keith was a very lousy lover (according to Anita).

I don't think that says anything detrimental about Keith's manliness though LOL. The mighty Poppy will leave even the Human Riff himself limp...

=======Tony Sanchez died in 2000, according to the latest edition of Up and Down With The Rolling Stones (now called "I was Keith Richards' Drug Dealer")=====

Got to find a copy of that. Do you know who published it?

I bought the original in 1979 as a paperback and managed to lose it. (dumbass) It was a fairly good read, alot of stuff that Keith would never have wanted out....Poor Tony...he made himself to be some kind of "Dope Dealing Angel in Disguise" and Keith holds grudges for a loooooooooong time.

...maybe it also had to do with the presence
of anita in those days...
excessive smack-consume often doesn't make
people more attractive.
i was going through the memeoirs of bebe bruel the
other day, and there is a nice little anecdote about keith
and the influence (or not so affecting influence) of h
on his ...ahem ...yes...
gives the film-title "a man called horse" a new meaning...
the bebe bruel book defintely does have it's moments...

Keith was too zonked out to notice. Wasn't it Spanish Tony who said Keith would spend hours on the pot, constipated and playing guitar and writing songs while he sat?
