They looked and sounded like a unit, working together. A four-headed monster.

It's funny - you can almost see the modern / Vegas era stones in this film.
I have to say that I'm a little underwhelmed with this DVD, I think I prefer the early MT era stones more now - and I was quite a fan of the SG album and later stuff, now I'm not so sure.
Also I notice that there is very heavy dynamic compression in the audio mastering. Makes it quite unpleasant to listen to - in fact it sounds a lot like SAL.

Which version do you have? Sounds amazing on my Blu Ray.
I think you're right in being a little "underwhelmed" since this concert was hyped like mad by the guys on this forum (and others) as being "the best concert ever". So much so that you couldn't help but be a bit disappointed.
I took everything said with a pinch of salt so I'm happy out with this film.

That's exactly it. I saw an ad ( can't remember where right now, perhaps in that music magazine review someone posted earlier today) that did indeed refer to these sets coming with a miniature tour program from 78.Quote

.... mmmmm ya gotta question them 75 shots ....
Might have been used at the time to market the 78 tour?

Just finished watching it in glorious 5.1 surround sound. Beautiful. The DVD is simply unbelievable. Something like this shelved for 30 years? Blasphemous. The band is on all cylinders and I gotta say while Mick is just a complete maniac throughout the show, Charlie steals the show for me. His playing is top notch. Ronnie is right up front in the mix and he captures your ear on every solo he takes.
All in all...it puts a smile on your face.

Well, I just finished watching it.I was there at the concert and it was even better than I remember it! Two things that jump out at me.How much better the Stones were playing than the tour 3 years later and I really miss them. I realize maybe they need the "Rolling Stones Company" to perform now(its been 30+years after all) but this is what I miss, Just the band and a couple or so side guys. Ron and Keith supplying whatever b/u vocals there are...but THE STONES, raunchy with warts and all!.Not meant to start an argument, just one person's thought but this makes me feel sad for anyone that didnt get to see these guys live prior to 82. This is whats its all about!

Well I have a different take on this show. Terrible. Keith and Charlie were excellent but the rest was just terrible. Don't intend to sound all high and mighty, but when I hear Ronnie play it reminds me of when I was learning to play guitar. The man can't muster a melodic solo anymore. Just about every other note was sharp or flat and watching him he seems to be so proud of his mediocrity. His haircut is his biggest asset to The Stones. The only instrument I can listen to Ronnie play is pedal steel, and even that was lackluster here. The violin on Far Away Eyes was nice. The few glimpses of Ian were great, and his piano was nice too.
