Yes, indeed, the sound

bollocks. if someone had told you this was stu on piano, everyone would be singing the praises of the mighty ian stewart. the fact is that chuck is a master of all styles...it's why stu picked him...chuck can do stu, nicky, billy...and just about anyone else....now, please stop the chuck bashing and let's back to our regularly scheduled ronnie and keith bashings....

No there's a big difference in sound. Compare Key To The Highway on Dirty Work with Fancyman Blues from 1989 for instance, for a prime example.

disagree. chuck can boogie woogie as well as the next guy, including stu...ask stu yourself.

Hang on

I"M the next guy and I resent the implication...

the implication that ppl's criticisms about chuck are really just masks for their resentment in the rest of the band lacking in energy?

whoa

I'm out

the way the piano is recorded is your criticism now? i give up....

i understand your need to find a fall guy, erik...but there's not enough evidence to convict this guy...i ask the judge to throw the case out....

Bollocks? You wondered what the difference between Chuck's casio keyboard and Stu's piano was. To my ears they sound very different.

But if you get a real piano listening experience while listening to Chuck's keyboard, good for you.

IMO, being a generalist, and to a degree master many styles (not being the master of all styles - Chuck) is not necessarily a better thing than being a specialist (Stu at boogie-woogie).

Can't help but to feel bad for starting all of this, why can't we all just get along?

THat's not right - that I need to find a fall guy; I mean. We obviously have a different view on his playing; but you try to turn it into the standard "you just bash Chuck because of the fact that Rolling Stones themselves have declined" thingy. But that's not what I'm doing.

Strange if you don't hear any difference between classic piano sound and keyboard ala Fancyman Blues and So Young. Don't mean that you have to dismiss one sound and prefer the other - but strange if you don't hear any difference.
