First them 4 have to say YES, we will make a last record to show those kids one more time why they are still the greatest band on earth.
Then they should figure out who will be on board and who will do what.
This is my (wish)list what could come out of such a decision:

Mick Jagger: vocals, guitar, harp, piano
Ron Wood: guitar, steel guitar, some backup vocals
Keith Richards: vocals, backup vocals, some guitar
Charlie Watts: drums
Mick Taylor: guitar
Bill Wyman: bass
Waddy Wachtel: guitar (KR parts)
Bobby Keys: sax
Ben Waters: piano

Producers: Rick Rubin and T-Bone Burnett
Co-Producers: The Glimmer Twins
Musical Director: Keith Richards
Working Title: Finaly Back Together!!!!!

Drop Waddy and T-Bone and we have a deal.

Ron Wood: backing vocals, narration and bass when Bill runs out of valium

...that's pretty disrespectful any way you slice it.

It's my honest opinion as a true stones fan. Not meant to be disrespectful.

Nothing. But completely unnecessary in the Stones.

You all totally overrate Rick Rubin as a record producer. His current squashed,
brickwalled sound would be a disaster for the Stones. Mick and Keith are not about to let anyone produce them in the sense of telling them what to do anyway. When it used to work, Keith would more or less produce the basic tracks and Mick would then produce his input, not all that different from the way he's approached the reissues. The problem is that their work hasn't gelled, not the "producer".

You are so right. The Glimmers should let someone produce them, but they only choose yes-men like Don Was. Someone like Tom Waits would be an inspired choice but it will never happen. Maybe Andrew Loog Oldham could lock them in the kitchen again.

Great, then we can have a new keyboard player, Mac or Ben

Rubin's busy with Ozzy's extended family. Lessee if he can guide that trainwreck
as opposed to what happened with CSN's delayed covers LP.

T-Bone would be PERFECT. Daniel Lanois a good second choice.

Players? Waddy and Blondie will prolly support, but the keys will most definitely
go to Chuck. If not, Mr Rebbonack, Sir Duke or Mr Waters would all be good fits.

BTW ... wazzup with The Winos' release? On hold? In can?

We wanted to go on the trip Ben's organising, but a tad too expensive for us, I'm afraid. Will be fantastic though!!
Chris

Satisfied since 1976

Why so much hype about Blondie, what specially good about him? There are other guitarist with way more potential.

Dan Auerbach is producing now. He is just finishing up a new album with Dr. John. (I'm pretty excited to hear that!)

Anyway, I would crap myself with happiness if he produced the Stones. Just sayin'.

He is a good back up-singer, in the fact the only male with a little punch in his voice. We need Blondie.

T-Bone ok, 2 captains on one ship won't work........... ;-)
But not WW.
I think they need him to create the old Stones sound again, because KR is not really capable anymore to do so.
He can use WW to produce the guitar parts that are in his mind.

I would also like to see some guest appearances:
Paul M. and Ringo S. on I Wanna Be Your Man 2012.
The Edge
Eric Clapton on Little Red Rooster 2012.
BB King
Joe Bonamassa
Beth Hart

Don Was and Cchuck Leavell: Catering

forget Paul and Ringo to play with the Stones on stage and
I saw BB King a few weeks ago, I dont think he can play on stage anymore.

Why not Cuck Leavell on piano - he´s the only musician who still knows how the play the stones songs (Ron and Keith will not remember, Mick and Charlie never know the cords) - so they will not play without him

did I understand correctly ?

No. John Mayer.

Seriously doubt its a long enough commitment that would clash with his other (and far more lucrative) job.
