Hey, John Stamos was more than just a touring drummer for the Beach Boys. He also sang Dennis Wilson's "Forever" in concert with them and on their second last studio album. No lip synching was ever involved to my knowledge. Mike Love has many flaws, but I don't think lip synching was one.

The UK single (my copy anyway) doesn't have the double tracked vocals at the start of the record
The 2nd version I first heard on the internet does - also on the promo CD (PLUNDERED1) which I have recently acquired
