Ok, the slide guitar is the original. GREAT!

The new version is certainly crisper and nicer sounding than the boot. An okay song IMHO but I can see why they didn't add it to the original Some Girls album. Still - I can't wait until the album is re-released in November.

Not as strong a foot forward as Plundered My Soul. I didn't get the same feeling of elation. More like a B-side. Feelings could change with time and hearing it on a better stereo than my computer speakers. It could have used a final touch by Bill adding a few notes and transitions.

What the hell does that mean? There is nothing wrong with the way Mick Jagger sounds. Is he supposed to imitate himself? To me he is the ultimate vocal craftsman, who has matured into his voice. Is he supposed to sound like he's 20? Maybe he doesn't want to repeat himself, either, instead of being boxed in. He's 68 years old. He brings years of depth and experience to his singing now, like a real bluesman. He's the Stone with the most punch left in the group. Next, you'll be saying he's 'nasal'.

It doesnt matter. The notion that the public are going to buy a new Stones single in their thousands and make a hit out of it in 2011 is nonsensical. For all the fuss over 'Plundered my soul', it barely scratched the UK top 200.

Even if they released Brown Sugar now for the first time it would tank.

I really don't see what's wrong w/Mick's new vocal. I think it is a decent approximation to the original. I never loved this song anyway, though it's nice to hear it in such fine fidelity.

I can visualize people around the table for the Christmas dinner while NSP is being playing on the radio.
If they're going to reach No. 1 again, it could be very well with a song like this. Time keeps on changing, I don't feel an upbeat rock song would do the trick this time.
