In 1994 I managed to get onto the pier for the Stones' Voodoo Lounge press announcement. I was standing around beforehand with a local TV reporter, and we struck up a conversation.

It was to be the first Stones tour without Bill Wyman. Because I would be too embarrassed to ask the Stones any questions myself, I suggested that he ask them if it was safe to assume that they wouldn't be playing "In Another Land" on this next tour. Needless to say, he didn't get it ... this inside Stones-humor.

The 20-something pretty-boy tv reporter didn't know what I was talking about... he barely knew anything about the Stones. He didn't ask them my silly question.

i've written on this forum before on how i would really like to see a toned down stones show, much like their theatre gigs ...

here's how i see an opening:
4 stools in center of the stage
mick, keith, charlie, and ron walk out (no intros, lights go down, spot light comes up, they walk out)
keith and ron have acoustic guitars, charlie has a couple of percussion items, and mick his mic
they sing an acoustic ruby tuesday followed by time is on my side
then they go back to get the electric stuff all ready and crank out another 18 hits!
