the thread about the New Barbarians got me to wondering if Keith played piano on

any songs with the Stones, live..?

he played piano on 'Apartment #9' on New Barbarians shows.

a New Barbarians boot was one of the first I ever got, back in the day..

There's "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby?" on THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW where Keith's piano playing sounds oddly like Mike Leander's horns. And of course, there's Keith's piano playing on "Ruby Tuesday" on SULLIVAN later that same season. Mind you, whether or not it's live, it appeared to be at least.

«Yeah, I played piano on Let's Spend the Night Together, and then I overdubbed the guitar. To me that song was a progression from Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby?. It was like Have You Seen Your Mother was a step toward Let's Spend the Night Together, because the chords and the structure of the song are very similar. And the fact that I'd wrote them both on piano, one was almost the same as the other.

- Keith Richards, 1982»

On "Charlie is my Darling", these backstage scenes.

(Can't remember him actually play, though; merely sitting behind it, and goofing around with Mick; both acting & looking rather sh#tfaced... smoking smiley )

EDIT: I wonder when BV is going to fix the video display problem we've been encountering the past 9 months...anyone know? Also what about that intensive flurry of suggestions, recommendations, input, opinions, thoughts, feedback, etc. many people provided re: enhancements to iorr? I still am very happy with its usability - and not champing at the bit for changes (particularly dramatic and/or flashy ones, or anything that would slow down or complicated the site), just wondering. The only thing that is regularly slightly irritating is the video display issue. [ps - I know some will say it's our own browser issue, but (a) I don't encounter it on any other site, and (b) we didn't used to have this issue on iorr)

Didn't Richards fall asleep behind "the wheel" during one of the live performances of 'Fool to Cry' on the 1976 tour ??

He played guitar then, though.

There is a story about Keith messing around on piano at rehearsals and saying a bit wistfully to somebody that he wishes he could play more piano but people might not accept that from him.
