In reading the comments on this board, I think that the overwhelming majority of IORR posters think that:

* Keith is the ultimate, he can do no wrong & The Winos material is top shelf

* Mick is an idiot for his solo projects, his involvement with SuperHeavy and his "disloyalty" to The Rolling Stones as a result of "other" musical ventures

* Charlie is an original, yet he is along for the ride - as steady as they are - hard to criticize the man, thankfully

* Ron is a clown who doesn't take his role seriously at all


To me, Mick Jagger is the finest showman on the planet, Keith is a fantastic guitarist, Charlie lays down the beat time and time again and Ronnie is the perfect sidekick and companion for Keith - love the slide Ronnie!

It's really painful to read the constant criticism of Mick & Ronnie time and time again.

Let's be thankful for The Rolling Stones!

This is the only one I agree with, but in a way it is praise rather than criticism (Keith in particular takes it all too seriously!).

The thing is you can't judge by the comments posted to conclude that it is a majority opinion. You could start a poll and gauge the results against the number of IORRians, but otherwise you're left with concluding that those who argue loudest and most often are the true voice of the people and I would suspect you'd find that isn't the case.

Finally, after close to 50 yrs, Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie don't owe anything to any of their fans.

It just 'seems' like its a lot of people because its generally the same stuff from the same people on a different day!

Anyone who invests so much emotional energy in a band that they feel 'betrayed' because a musician does what he feels like doing is in need of professional help. The Stones (or what they do or don't do) clearly aren't the 'problem'.

You (and those who have expressed similar sentiments) should really get over the "pain" of having the Stones criticized. First of all, it's "tough love" from people who like and respect the band every bit as much as you do. Second, there are serious problems in the world to experience "pain" about. This is just a rock & roll band. I am sure the Stones aren't losing any sleep over this criticism, and neither should you.
