Exciting '67 footage

Part of the joy of writing the "Butterfly On A Wheel" book was being able to research a lot of moving imagery connected to 1967. However, I was really surprised to see that these trims of Peter Whitehead's from the "We Love You" "Dandelion" promo films have survived the years. Amazing- please enjoy! (you'll need quicktime)

Just love the jacket Keith is wearing!

I imagine this was filmed on the same day as the "courtroom scenes in "We Love You". the following day they were in court.

I never thought Dandelion was a full promo. A mate has it but I believe it is a composite of 67 studio footage. I saw it about 10 years ago and it reminded me of We Love You footage.

I've read before that there was a Dandelion promo video, but (like you) I assumed it was just compiled from other clips. Makes sense though, as there were also made promo videos for both the UK b-side before this (Ruby Tuesday) & after this (Child Of The Moon).

I don't think the footage is anything to do with 'Dandelion'. It did surface a few years ago on a Channel 4 doc called 'Mick's Girls' actually. (2004)

Looks like Keith is wearing the same jacket here that Mick wore at the Beatles' All You Need Is Love tv show.

Someone has simply slowed down and stuck the above Whitehead footage (Getty Images tag has been blurred out) to the music of Dandelion.

Yes, it's nice. Mick, Keith and Marianne are in costume for the We Love You video: one or two shots from "Dandelion" are also in this:

It's nice someone has done something with the footage. Anyone have a precise location for this video- I couldn't seem to locate it, although Peter Whitehead said it might be Hampstead Heath?

In the book The Rolling Stones: On Camera, Off Gaurd 1963 - 69 it say's the location is a church behind Kings Cross Station. Footage shot inside and in the grounds of the church.

I did a recee around there recently, and seriously- there is no foliage matching Whitehead's film. Seemingly no church matching the interior either. Ummm...
