The World Chess Championship 2016 in New York City (Brooklyn) is on its way. After 12 games the game is tied, 6-6, between the defending champion Magnus Carlsen, Norway, and Russian Sergey Karjakin.
Tie breaks will be played on Wednesday. "The tie breaks will begin with a four-game rapid chess match. If that match is tied, up to five two-game matches of blitz chess will be played, with the match ending
if any player can break the tie in any two-game match. If the match is still tied after the four rapid games and ten blitz games, an Armageddon game will be used to break the tie", (Wikipedia).

I've been following this closely. Carlsen took a big risk by leading the 12th match into a draw, imo.

Then again, it's things like this that makes him the greatest.

Will follow the final game tonight - through Armagedion if necessary

Today is Carlsen's 26th birthday, let's see if he can buy himself a great present this evening. Go Magnus indeed.

Both players say it's 50/50, and Karjakin is a "Russian wall".

I put my money on Carlsen though, he's by far the strongest rapid/blitz player in the world, and he's a modest person
