Do you think the end is near for the Rolling Stones now they 'opened their vaults"? We allready got Exile and L&G. Some girls and the 1978 tour dvd is coming.

Mick said there won't be a 50th anniversary tour and everybody is doing their own thing.

Did the 1996 release of Rock & Roll Circus mean the end?

I think they didn't have a choice when it came to Circus. Some kind of legal mumbo-jumbo reason for that, if I remember correctly.

I think they will go on in some form for many years to come.

Look at Bob Dylan, McCartney, Springsteen and Neil Young and their incredible ongoingarchive releases. It's not the end for them.

Ok, he might not say there will be NO TOUR but he said he is unsure if the Stones will do an anniversary tour

There's one hell of a difference between those two statements.

And - again - as has been repeated several times, he's not going to drop massive hints about a Stones tour when he's trying to promote another project.

I think The Rolling Stones exist, so long as Keith Richards is living. I think on his famous quotation: "You must leave The Rolling Stones in a coffin only."

The longer they don't work, at this point, the less likely that they ever will.

The Stones will never end. They will just be integrated into SuperHeavy.

The end is sadly near, but there still might be a few shows next year.

When I saw the Stones for the first time in 1978 I thought I had seen the greatest live band on the planet. I was convinced the combination of Jagger, Richards, Watts, Wood & Wyman could not be touched as a live act. They had the magic dust - nothing like them, etc. I left the Superdome in New Orleans a true believer. In 2011 I have my doubts just how effective a 2012 Stones' tour would be - outside of pure nostalgia. They became a great band by working their asses off - honing their craft. A few weeks of rehearsals might not be enough to wash away the years of rust and complacency. Forget the dynamics between the two leaders – do the Stones have the ability to produce a great show?
