I taught her everything
I taught her how to drive
I taught her all she knows
I taught her how to speak

I half invented her
And now she acts so chic
I taught her everything
But now she's obsolete

Seems like David Jones (Bowie...) had a taste for Swedish cars. His old (1981) Volvo 262 C recently went under the
hammer. For $216,000. A bargain? [www.automobilemag.com]

ABBA's touring car, a silver 1977 BMW 633 CSi, is up for sales at Sotheby's. Anyone interested? It's estimated to sell for
between Euro 25,000 and 35,000. I must say, many pop stars have great taste in cars. This BMW is a stunner!

My old Lady had a 635 CSI back in the early 80s. Color of it was dark blue mettalic. It looked and drove really great. Wished we had kept it.

Good to hear, Good! I hope you enjoyed it. These cars were very expensive at the time. About twice the price of a regular 5-series BMW (if my memory serves me...)

Looking for a Volvo? Of course you do. This is a nice one. A Volvo Amazon 123 GT, model 1967.
Latest bid is about $32,000. It would be hard to find a better Amazon than this one...

I wonder what happened to that Punto? A train? Anyway, here is the car for the customer who thinks security first.
A Mercedes 600 L with 12 accompanying body guards from North Korea running along. Can it be any safer?

Here's How To Score Keith Richards' 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT

A stunning 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT owned and driven by the great Keith Richards will be auctioned off by Bonhams at its Goodwood Revival sale in the UK next month. As we noted recently the Dino, as much of an icon as the Rolling Stone himself, just celebrated its 50th anniversary in a very stylish way.

Keith took delivery of Dino new in 1972 and used it frequently when The Rolling Stones were on European tours, Bonhams' motoring department notes; his other ride of choice was a Bentley he called "Blue Lena."

As Alan Dunn, The Rolling Stones' Tour Manager, once recalled, "On these European tours of the 1970s, the band would fly to each gig and Keith, who avoided flying whenever he could, would choose to drive the Dino, frequently arriving at the band's hotel in the middle of the night."

Given Keith's often wild driving, not to mention his notorious penchant for controlled substances, "it is nothing short of miraculous" that the Ferrari survived, Bonhams notes. Keith had put about 25,000 miles on the beautiful ride before it was sold to a private collector in Japan in 1986.

Estimated at up to $500,000, this is a true piece of automotive and rock & roll history, which probably belongs in a museum somewhere but would look incredibly cool in your garage, with one of Keef's guitars hanging on the wall for good measure.

And considering that Keith bought the car the year the Stones released Exile On Main Street, and he recorded eight more hit albums with the band while he owned it, it's easily one of the most important Dinos in existence – but we'd still drive it every day....
