Next year I'm considering taking a 2 week Blues road trip starting with a weekend at New Orleans Jazz Fest, then heading up highway 61 stopping in places like Rosedale, Clarksdale, Vicksburg then Memphis and Nashville.

As I have been to New Orleans and Tennessee before, I am especially interested in any must see suggestions for the Mississippi portion of my trip.

Spend a night at the Shack Up Inn in Clarksdale.

Go to the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale and see Muddy Waters cabin. And the crossroads at 61 & 49.

Go to Greenwood and see Robert Johnson's grave.

Memphis...where do I start...Blues Hall of Fame, Sun, Stax, Rock & Soul, Memphis Music Hall of Fame, Graceland, Beale Street.

I've stayed there a couple of times, it's awesome. If your trip is planned for October, it might coincide with the Deep Blues Festival in Clarksdale, which has the Shack Up Inn as one of its HQs, and it's a great place to see a band.
