Lyrics are questionable.
The track is fantastic in my
opinion.

My thoughts exactly; musically wonderful, lyrically perhaps not as good as it could have been.

Never understood the dislike of this one.

Breath of fresh air musically. Wonderfully played, beautifully sung, nicely produced. Lyrically, ok, a bit naff. Not quite right. But overall, a sonic guilty treasure.

It's one of the things I truly adore about the Stones, and the one thing that absolutely sets then apart from all others. They can, and do, try and then brilliantly bring off, all styles of music.

"Little Indian girl, where is your poppa?
He's fighting in the war in the streets of Masaya."

For the obsessives with an interest in history, this is a recent and good pertinent-to-the-song article about the town of Masaya: >>> [www.tabletmag.com]

I can't believe all the hate for this song.

To each his own I suppose, but I've always loved
everything off 'Emotional Rescue' from first spin.

"Well my heavy throbbers itchin' just to lay a solid rhythm down"

Is there a live version of Indian Girl?

According to Wiki it was played somewhere on the Urban Jungle Tour:

Other songs played on the tour:

"Almost Hear You Sigh" (Jagger/Richards/Jordan)
"Blinded By Love"
"Boogie Chillen" (Hooker)
"Can't Be Seen"
"Factory Girl"
"I Just Want to Make Love to You" (Dixon)
"Salt of the Earth"
"Terrifying"
"Indian Girl"

They played it on the first couple of shows of the 86 tour but then it was dropped from the set.

I love Indian Girl - it has a great mood and jagger's vocal delivery.

I don't hate it either. I would spill my cider if they released something of that high a quality these days.

I think they’re confusing it with BLINDED BY LOVE which I think was played in Madrid 1990
