I would certainly agree with Anita...she very nearly wrecked the band several times.

Thta is true. Freddie was a good friend. Mick hated him.

To be realistic, Freddie was a main enabler for Keith. Their "friendship" without Freddie ongoing drug supply and willingness to take the rap for Keith, likely wouldn't have existed.

I agree, though it wasn't Ringo's girlfriend - it was his wife of many years (& father to his kids) Maureen. The late Maureen, as she died some years ago.

The Watchman?

Anita. FOr all her legion of fan-girls, this woman was a toxic component to the Jagger/Richards dynamic, starting way before Bianca came into the picture - Bianca just became an easy, available and convenient target. (she also kept her life separate and didn't interfere with the Stones despite the myths)
Anita began the rivarlies, the resentments, the chasms between Mick vs Keith and Brian and then MIck and Keith vs Brian and then Mick vs Keith. She thrived on it, got off on it.
I don't care if she was a muse, she had too much power over both Brian and Keith, always more gullible than Jagger. She was also the main instigator in the 'who-can-handle-smack-better' contests with Keith.
And I would also add all those 'hangers-on' around Keith that enabled him, not just Sessler, but ones we'll probably never know about.

I actually admire her as a strong, dominant female presence in such a strict patriarchy, but she could also be very manipulative, particularly with Keith and Brian.

I would of thought so.Alot of these "Hangers-on" probably think that they're part of an entourage.

Sp Tony wasn't really hanger-on. The Stones had to have some kind of non-rockstar friends who just hung out. No, he doesnt come off as a man of deep integrity and class, but Keith needed just the kind of guy he was. He filled a need and a job; had it not been him it would have been another.
ST gets kind of a bad rap. He shouldn't have done the book, but all of us read it
