Back to the short Tell Me. There are actually four different matrix combinations existing:
-1A -1A / -1A -2A / -2A -1A / -2A -2A
I only have two of them, 1A1A and 2A2A. Need to extend the short Tell Me part of my collection with two more at some point. A bit scary though looking at sold prices lately.
LK4605 is for me by far the most interesting LP to collect. I have by now 20 different UK pressed copies and still missing a few….

agreed! although i think i probably only have 4 or 5 copies. i also like the early versions of decca and london, that had the original stereo versions. you can correct me here Jan, but for example I think an original decca blue label for OOOH is pretty rare, as are versions of London 12x5 and Now in stereo (with the ffss label, or even unboxed).

yes, that is certainly cool Henrik....what I'd like to know is how often that happens, and how rare it is. Is it worth anything more than a normal version?

No idea if this often happens but first time I have noticed it. I only paid 15 euro's for it; wasn't sure if I had this pressing but you never can go wrong buying UK and US albums in EX condition at this price.
Talked to quite a few collector's and no one has seen anything like this.
Someone mentioned that this was not a mis pressing but a test pressing with London labels.
Interesting to find out more....

Hope for you they are test pressings, as I think that'd probably be more valuable than a mispress.

Hi there! I stumbled onto this site the other day and wanted to post while my ad was still active! Well… it's a little late now… I already sold the LP that I had up, but just wanted to say hi! I had one of the Big Hits Lp's with the alternate cover/color scheme… a nice copy! Got $2,669 for it. Here are some pics from the auction. It's already in its' new home and I don't feel too bad about selling it! To me its just another LP that I liked, but no more than the stock common version! What would you do? Would you keep it or sell it?

Anyway, glad to meet some collectors! I am a collector and seller… I love the thrill of the hunt… and sometimes the shooting, skinning and consuming and/or taking to them market! Fun stuff!

So I was looking through thousands of Lp's that I just bought. Most of them were CRAP… I found myself worrying that I bought a bunch of worthless SH** but then this one popped up! I though, "what country is THIS version from?"… then I saw it was printed in the US and the search was on! A few hours later it was listed, and about four hours after that it was SOLD and paid for! CRAZY!

When I pulled it out, and figured out what it was I kind of HOOTED and said to my girlfriend "EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS"… she's used to my sickness, but even she had a hard time believing that… I told her that my limit was $2669 on Ebay, as I had sold a bit already this month… and realistically I thought that was a fair price that I should get fairly quickly. She still didn't believe me! I listed it… and about 3 hours later an email DING went off… IT'S SOLD! "no way" "YES WAY"… 20 minutes later we're standing in front of an ATM,spitting out some 150+ 20 dollar bills… she still didn't believe it... right up until that point… Now, let's jus t say I have a little extra credibility that I didn't before… heheh… Same thing happened last year with a picture sleeve from a band that consisted of several of my close friends… a crudely drawn picture sleeve that was basically xeroxed and taped together… A homemade cut and pasted, hand-colored, crude, early 80's atrocity (that someone gave me $2,200 for!!!) Anyway… I could regale you with more stories…but here's a better pic you can check out. Peace out!

I can tell you they were pressed between 1966-1970. Street Fighting Man comes with an Obi. Also, the pictures are very nice. That's all I know. Have fun.

After 3 years of search, - I finally got it !

The Radio-Edit of "It´s All Over Now" - 2.48 (the second verse is removed)

This is a mysterious release !

In the early sixties, - when Radio Was King, - "Pop"-songs had to be short and
effective, - so many "Radio-Edits" was made, - and then released on Promo-singles, - the LONDON-company had it´s "Orange Swirl-serie, -
but this edit was only released (maybe by mistake) - on a "normal"
purple / white 7" - mislabeled 3.20

It is only to be identified by it´s matrix : DR 33543 1C

WOW, congratulations Henrik, and yes, thanks for that info, never heard that before. You also made me look through my 7 copies...I don't think I have the 1C on any of them, although a couple are hard to read.

I presume the grooves should be noticeably shorter on yours, yes?

I'll also note I have 6 purple and whites, and only two of them have the same printing, meaning the other 4 have completely different font.

Of those other four, one of them has the same font as the photo you've posted.

UPDATE: OK, so I had another look at the one that's similar to yours...I think it says 2C, not 1C. Damn!

Henrick

I just found in my collection the exact copy as yours, font label time etc.. labeled 3:20 but plays with out the second verse. same matrix 33543 1C

another copy plays all 3 verses but is labeled 2:28 different font DR 33543 2G

another is labeled 3:20 and plays all 3 verses another font DR 33543 2A

weird

OK Henrik, so now that you have all our 'hearts aflutter' and researching our respective collections, are you able to give us a range of pricing one might expect to buy/sell this item for?

No, - and this is very strange !
The White / Purple 7" exists with a mislabeling of IAON 2.28 - which happens to be the runningtime of the B-side "Good Times, Bad Times" -
This is just a mislabelling - it does not hold the radio-edit !
The Very strange thing is, - that this mislabeling went on to the next generation
of 7" - the Blue Swirl-serie !

- and now we are at the subject, - a kind of "warning" -

there exists copies that at first glance is "1C" -
but actually is a pretty clear "1" - corrected to a vague "2" -
this one don´t hold the Radio-Edit either !
- I am the lucky owner of two copies ! LOL !

ha ha...that is what mine is I think. It looks like a 1 corrected to a 2.

Again, DAMN!

So, what are these worth in your humble opinion? I need to start planning for my next purchase!

According to the latest Stones price guide from Rockin Records from 2013, with help from Very English And Rolling Stones expert Thomas Grosh

the It's All Over Now purple white label listed as time 2:28 but plays all 3 verses is listed as value of 50-75 dollars

the book does not mention the 3:20 that has the edit of 2 verses. So maybe it is rarer and not discovered by collectors and authors yet.

Impossible to say ! - This record is really "RARE STONES VINYL" - 52 years old -
and maybe the rarest 7" I own, - the 3.10 "We Love You"-Orange Swirl might compare -

but I think it´s all up to your collector-heart, wallet - and stamina !

Let me salute to all of those sellers of the White / Purple 7" - who for the last
3 years has answered my ever ongoing question :
"Could you please provide me with the matrix on the side with IAON ?"

Collecting is GREAT fun "! - and Well, - here it is !
For some (strange) reason, - "We Love You" was released on two different
Orange-Swirl-promos. The majority of those, holds the "normal" 4.39 version, -
but a "few" had the edited 3.10 version . . .
- in this case, you can at least trust the labeling !

Are these albums rare?

The first one is The Rolling Stones Great Hits by Decca made in Germany.

The other is Everybody Needs Somebody To Love which is basically No. 2 album with a different cover. Also by Decca, made in Netherlands

Re: Let's talk RARE Stones vinyl
Date: January 20, 2016 12:53

I have both of them. I don't think those albums are rare in Europe.
