I'm a huge Steve Miller fan and saw him last year in the UK. I find these albums OK but not spectacular save for a few songs. I guess that it's because they are blues and r'n'b covers. Haven't listened to either of them since buying them to tell you the truth.

If I'm ina mood for some SMB then I'll usually stick on one of the first 6 albums such as Number 5 or Sailor or for 70s stuff Recall The Beginning or Fly Like An Eagle.

I'm not a fan and I was hugely disappointed by "Bingo!", his blues-oriented album.
it's not bad at all, no - but it's soulless and what I call faux-blues

not a bit of a blues @#$%& in Steve unfortunately.

I put forth a defense of Steve Miller on the Free thread -- anyway, I love a lot of stuff from the early period/first 5 albums. Seems a lot of it is blocked on YouTube, c'est la vie....

i have most of his early stuff. i skipped these when they came out but was wondering if i should have purchased them. i listened to a few tunes online and they sounded decent enough but maybe someone posted just the really good stuff

Nice clip Brue. Saw Steve anout a month ago. Voice was a little weak. But he can still put the guitar in Stevie Guitar Miller. Fun show.

i purchased both of them today. i got the standard 10 track version even though i know there are expanded versions of both. i got the standard version for $10 while the deluxe editions were $15.99. i can't see spending $6 for 4 more tunes and slightly better packaging and notes with steve miller.

i enjoy them enough. i was unfamiliar with most of the tunes and miller changed them up enough that it seems like original material. i have to agree with what a few people on amazon said. you have a total of 28 songs spread out over 2 albums. steve miller does not sing on a lot of the tunes. they should have combined these 2 albums into one album with 15-16 tracks with steve miller singing on 12 of them.
