Have you hung out with Keith Richards?

Yeah, man, I’ve hung out with him and Ronnie Wood a couple of times. One time in particular just absolutely blew my mind, when Mötley Crüe was opening for the Stones. The Stones guys sent their tour manager in to come and grab me, 'cause I wanted to say hello to the guys. This is literally five minutes before they’re about to go onstage. I walk in and Ronnie and Keith Richards are @#$%& wasted. I’ve played many shows wasted, but I’m talking about, these guys could barely walk, and they were about to go on. And I’m just sitting there going, “There’s no @#$%& way these guys are gonna be able to play. They can’t even find the stage, never mind playing the right notes.” And, dude, I was so blown away. What true professionals. Somehow they made it to the stage, and as soon as the house lights went off, it was just flawless. I was like, “I cannot believe what I just saw.”

When and where was the show?

It was in Toronto about five years ago, and it was on Halloween. It’s good to see those guys are still having fun, still just rocking it. I think that was the coolest part of that whole thing.

He was probably so wasted he thought they were wasted and they were actually straight!

The Stones have never played Toronto on Halloween.

It's either Seattle or Portland in 2005.

I didn't know Motley Crue ever opened for the Stones.

That'd be a cool story if it were true but ya never know when rock stars talk about other rock stars. A lot of things can cloud their memory...

The Stones didn't play Toronto 2006, which was five years ago.

HOWEVER, they did play the arena in Seattle October 20, 2005 with Motley Crue opening. So that's six years ago, which is "about five years ago", as Tommy said.

Whew, I thought I was missing something as I have caught the Stones in Toronto many times, but never with Motley Crue opening. Then again, if I had tickets and Motley Crue WAS the opener, I would not have bothered going in to my seats till they were done (as I did with No Doubt when they opened for the Stones in Toronto).

But Keith and Ronnie being wasted....I can totally believe that.

The show was in SATAN'S UNDERWORLD!!!

Nikki Sixx said Mötley Crüe once rehearsed at the same Woodstock location the Stones rehearsed at and Sixx was adamant he sleep in the same bed Keith had slept in.

This *might* possibly explain the whole Keith couldn't play in 2007 thing. If they really went on drunk, and without the cocaine to "sharpen up" Keith's playing (he gave it up in '06 after the tree accident, according to his book), the results couldn't have been up to standards.

There is hope now that they are supposedly sober, right?

Does a recording of this gig exist..? I don't have it but now I'm curious about it...

Saw Beck open for the Stones in Toronto...that was excellent.

leaving out the spaces

Is the picture on your computer and you need to put it on an internet page?
go to [tinypic.com] and UPLOAD it to thier site....
thne copy and paste the bottom "link" as descibed above.

If the picture is out in the real world,
use your digital camera, take a picture of it...and put it in your computer
and do as described above.

If part of that does not make sense just ask...

It may seem technical/hard.. but after you do it a couple of times you will see it is just simple pushing buttons... and is very easy.... it is simply getting over the hump....

I was at the Seattle show where Motley Crue opened. Man, they were loud! I only sat through a couple of their numbers. As for the Stones, it wasn't one of their best performances. Maybe it was the setlist, but the show was just OK in my opinion (although I am always happy to see them live). During the Stones' set, I was standing, kind of dancing to the music. I had an aisle seat, and somebody bumped me. It was a huge bodyguard for Nikki Sixx. Nikki sat (if I remember correctly) a few seats away from me and stayed through a few numbers before he left.

no matter what you think of their music,if you think the guys in the crue are posers you really have no idea what your talking about.

what haven't they done?- i'm sure they dont spend much time worrying about wannabe rock critics on the internet.

It was October 30, 2005 in Seattle Washington at the Qwest Center and November 1, 2005 in Portland Oregon at the Rose Bowl were Mötley Crüe opened for the Stones, This was before I was into them,

I have seen them 5 times since 2006 and every show for them is more and more amazing. I bet Nikkis tech Darren Meeks and had him sign the Crue program i got and Darren gave me a bunch of Nikki's guitar picks. He still remembers me as the "autograph guy."

The Crue is like the eighties version of The Rolling Stones, They were out of control like the Stones were and showed that bad boy image. I would recomend any one to see a Crue concert it is a really cool experience. If you can't catch them when they come around check out the Carnival of Sins DVD. it was very good.

I thought nicky sixx was sober these days, doesnt look it

the best crue album is the one without vince neil singing. john corabi made them sound much more like a rock band influenced by the stones
