What about them?

As a big Jerry Lee Lewis fan I can safely say that 'Mean Old Man' was the most poorly recorded & uninspired peace of crap of his entire career. Comparing it to 'Last Man Standing' is like comparing 'Primitive Cool' to 'Let It Bleed'. Jimmy Rip did a fantastic job on LMS, I really wish he'd stayed for the sequel.

Isn't Mick on all these albums? And Keith on some of them?

Performance - Memo from Turner
Victory - State of shock
The Long Black Veil - The rocky road to Dublin
Blues Blues Blues - Don't start me to talkin
Alfie - a lot of songs
Last Man Standing/Mean Old Man - Dead Flowers / Sweet Virginia
Bruce Allmighty - God gave me everything
Duals - Stuck in a moment

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Dead Flowers & Sweet Virginia are both on 'Mean Old Man', but on 'Last Man Standing' are Evening Gown (Mick + Ronnie) & That Kind Of Fool (Keith).

Yes. The overdubbed guests are very obvious & poorly done, & Jerry just doesn't seem into it at all. The most lively track on the album is 'Roll Over Beethoven' (with Ringo on drums)...an outtake from the 'Last Man Standing' sessions! Jimmy Rip really knew how to push The Killer & get the best out of him, but this time the "executive producer" was his daughter Phoebe, someone who's never going to get him to do retakes if they're not up to scratch.

for some reason when mean old man came out i was excited but passed over it. glad i never got around to getting it. i guess LAST MAN STANDING will go down as the killers last great album.

Don't forget the Hope Floats Soundtrack. It had "Honest I Do" by the Stones.
