Rolled Gold? That's a 1975 compilation of 1963-1969 material (I think we're really stretching things to call the CD reissue a "new" album)...

Where's 'Flashpoint'?

C'mon, Exile is from 1972, you can't put that in this list smiling smiley

I only own these from that period:

Stripped
Voodoo Lounge
Bridges to Babylon
Steel Wheels

So those are my favorites smiling smiley

Although I heartily agree with you, I believe he's referring to "Rolled Gold +" which is in fact newly released, and is expanded with more songs.

I have on Vinyl, as well as USB Stick (first I'd ever heard of that!).

I'd leave off the compilations, and go with:

1. ABB
2. Stripped
3. Steel Wheels
4. Voodoo Lounge
5. B 2 B

The only 'live albums' I think are good are No Security & Flashpoint.

While I love 'PMS' and a few of the other cuts, I don't think you can bundle them with the old songs, and then compare them to the rest of the post-89 releases. EOMS would always win that one.

I wouldn't go that far, but I agree that Bridges To Babylon is the highlight.

I really like about 3 songs on that album...fodder is how I'd describe the remainder of that album.

I think I like about 6 of them...But, one of the best ever Stones songs is on it -How Can I Stop.

I think the general consensus with this period is that while there is some very good music scattered about, none of the albums is bullet proof.

Personally, I think they could have made all of them significantly better by simply editing the weaker tracks out (and in the case of ABB, including Under The Radar).

Count another vote for B2B.

No love for LIVE LICKS I noticed; it's worthwhile for disk 2 imo.

Maybe "Miracle Worker" is a Jagger/Richards tune?

Can we include solo releases? If so 'Wandering Spirit' would be my 2nd choice (after Bridges To Babylon).

Which is also released on Flashpoint, an album that deserves more credit, imo. Great versions of SMU (best ever), JJF, Factory Girl etc. + Highwire of course.

IMO, A Bigger Bang and Bridges to Babylon are great albums. The live-in-the-studio tracks on Stripped are beautiful, not to mention the great cover shot.

I don't care for Steel Wheels or Voodoo Lounge at all, save for Slipping Away, AHYS and Thru & Thru.
