I came across this quite by accident: an enjoyable half hour talking to five women who worked for various pop magazines in the 60s (the likes of Rave, Boyfriend and Mirabelle) and used to get sent out to ask the usual inane questions about favourite colours and so on to up-and-coming young groups like the Beatles and the Stones. The Stones, apparently, would usually appear at lunchtime, all hungry and eyeing the office sandwiches longingly. Rock journalists before there was such a thing as Rock Journalism:
