Living in southwestern Virginia, I had missed out on the 72 tour because tickets in both Charlotte and Norfolk were gone very early. They really didn't get close enough to where I was living in 69, so this was a much anticipated first Stones show, and it was fabulous.

It is also one of the few shows, apparently, where there are no tapes of the concert in circulation anywhere. I'd love to hear even one song from that night.

Was anyone else from IORR at the Greensboro concert that hot summer evening?

Hey Mongoose! I was there in Greensboro, NC - July 31, 1975! It was my FIRST Stones' concert, too! Life Changing! General admission - I was way up at the front on my boyfriend's shoulders. I snapped a roll of photos on an old instamatic that are very grainy, but awesome memory material - like RW had on red leather pants! And Mick's rainbow socks! Billy Preston's white grand piano! Did you also catch their show in Greensboro in 1978? Good, but very different with the emphasis on the Some Girls album and less sound/lighting/etc.'

My other shows have been in Birmingham, AL (2), and here in Atlanta (5).

I was there too.
We moved to Greensboro from New Jersey in the middle of the TOTA so got to see them a month earlier at MSG which was my first show.
We were out in the parking lot starting around noon waiting for the General Admission gates to open.
I remember everyone running into the Coliseum when they finally let us in.
I sat on Ronnie's side a couple of rows up from the floor.
Saw them several times in NC - Greensboro '75 & '78. Charlotte '97 & '99 and Duke in '05.

Just found this one! Greensboro 75 was my first as well!! I was up front and it was divine! I'm even in a photo that appeared in the local rag the next day. As a side note, Glenn Frey of the Eagles was there with his brother I believe. The Eagles were playing the next night.

You are right about the rush, Nellcote. It was an insane rush to get inside. My ticket was barely ripped, my cousin and I (both were 15) pushed our way past the oldies lol and ran for the floor, jumping over the seats on the way down.

And loud. My God was it loud! I think my ears rang for 2 days afterwards.
