Does anyone knows how to remove old stickers from album sleeves without damaging the sleeve?

Sometimes i use a hairdryer to heat up with the sticker, being very careful not to burn it or the sleeve,
the glue softens and very carefully I can remove all. Then we need to see if this solution can do for your.

Maybe you can take a sample first just put a sticker on a piece of paper and try to remove it,,,,,and don't forget to take out the record first >grinning smiley<

Theres a special solvent ya' can buy for removing stickers ya' just lightly rub it on and leave it for a wee while until it soaks in and then the sticker and all the glue comes off.I use it all the time its great stuff some of the special material they use for security stickers it mightn't work so well. The stuff I use is Australian made its called De-Solv-it and has a orange smell to it.

Instead of a hairdryer use a lighter. A very common way to remove stickers. Heat the sticker with the side of the flame (not the peak, it`s too hot) and remove it carefully. You can controle the heat easily and it works great for decades now.

For tough stickers I've had good success with lighter fluid and a Q-tip. Put a small amount of fluid on an edge of the sticker, wait about a minute, then carefully start peeling back. Use a Q-tip with the lighter fluid on it to remove any glue left behind. Once you've gotten to the point on the sticker the lighter fluid has not loosened the glue, repeat the process until the sticker is fully removed. I like lighter fluid because it evaporates quickly and leaves behind no residue. Let the album cover air dry until the lighter fluid smell is gone. *Warning and Disclaimer* Of course care must be used when using any flammable liquids.

This stuff works pretty well on most things - although I've never tried it on record labels:

Tthe solution is to use stuff called Goo GoneĀ®.

Let it soak for a couple of minutes. Lift just one corner of the sticker a little at a time, allowing the solution to seep under the lifted corner and then soak a bit into the newly exposed adhesive. Do not peel the sticker all the way across yet.

Add a little more Goo Gone if necessary to wet the newly exposed adhesive.

Move back and forth with all the other corners, peeling them off a little bit at a time. Gradually lift all the corners always working toward the center of the sticker, don't peel straight across.

After the sticker has been removed, use a paper towel to remove residue.

Hopefully your problem is soluble.

I used to have an album with a "this sticker is removable" sticker printed on the cover !! - but I cannot remember which album. Somebody here must have better memory than me. Don't ask my advice how to get them off as I ruined many a album cover trying to get all the crappy stickers off. I'm sure someone in the record pressing plant was having a laugh and superglueing them on to my copies.
