If so, when and where?

1963 Lincoln Drill Hall according to Nico. Not sure where in England this is, probably somewhere in Metro London?

I would imagine it's the town of Lincoln, situated in the county of Lincolnshire.

Actually, Lincoln is a city; not a town. The county is still Lincolnshire, though.

Yes. Lincoln Drill Hall is in the City of Lincoln, County of Lincolnshire, East Midlands. Their website mentions the Stones played there on 31 December, 1963. The next day they made their first appearance on "Top Of the Pops".

U2 played one of the most famous shows at The Point Depot in Dublin on New Year's Eve 1989 during their Lovetown Tour. The show was broadcast worldwide and was heavily bootlegged.

Since we've already slightly drifted off the Stones, Hendrix and the Band Of Gypsies album was recorded on New Years eve and day. Recorded on opening night of a New Year's Eve and New Year's Day engagement at Fillmore East in 1969. Two shows were performed each of these two days.

Was this at the "Scene" club? The same with a practically incoherent Jim Morrison on at least one of the tracks?

Can't recall the year, but that is the one I remember too! I VCR'd it, still have that -- need to convert that one of these days to digital. I believe it was soon after Main Offender release because I think they played songs like Eileen and 999.

I went to the Winos 1992 NYE show at The Academy in NYC. Pearl Jam warmed up. Excellent night out!
