i think i'll have to check it out. thorogood has been one of the true rockers over the last 35 years. never changed his style, never toned it down, never tried to broaden who he was

Easy - MOVE IT ON OVER. Half Boy/Half Man was very good, too. The problem with George is, for me, that his sound is very repetetive. He rocks like hell, sure, but the Stones sound is more than one-dimensional like George's.

i agree the first 3-4 albums by george are his best. whatever official number the album BAD TO THE BONE is thats his last great album. after that is was as you say starting to sound the same although his singles and a few album tracks still were kick ass. i like his style though and the fact since 1974 he has never tried to jump on trends or even change up his rock sound. slide guitar, growling vocals, heavy on the blues. thats george.

only thing i hate is he deserves a great 2 cd hits set that gets the tracklisting correct. there was a pretty decent one a few years ago that went out of print pretty fast but still picked some clunkers. now there is a really good 1 disc overview of his first 30 years but again picked some subpar songs and left off "born to be bad", "delaware slide" and a few other george standards. in 2014 it will be his 40th anniversary so maybe a boxset or something will come out then

anyone get the 1982 live album that was released a year or 2 ago?

Re: OT George thorogood: 2120 south michigan avenue

ok with george's 40th anniversary coming up in a few years this is what they should do. release a 2 disc greatest hits set that includes at least 1 tunes from every album. i have compiled a list of what i think are the best thorogood songs and included tracks from every live album except the 1982 archive live album and the 30th anniversary tour live album because its not listed on george's official site.

Disc 1
Madison Blues
House Rent Boogie/One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer
Delaware Slide
Move It On Over
Who Do You Love?
It Wasn't Me
I'm Wanted
Bad to the Bone
Miss Luann
Gear Jammer
I Drink Alone
Willie and the Hand Jive
Reelin and rockin (live)
Sky is crying (live)

Disc 2
You Talk Too Much
Born to Be Bad
If You Don't Start Drinkin' (I'm Gonna Leave)
Hello Little Girl
Get a Haircut
Howlin' for My Baby
Lets work together (live)
Ride on josephine (live)
Rocking My Life Away
I don’t trust nobody
Night time (live)
American Made
The Hard Stuff
Tail Dragger
Going back
Let it rock
Brand new track (would have to be less than 4 minutes long)

they should then offer this is a limited edition 4 disc deluxe set. disc 3 would be unreleased tunes, non album b-sides, demo's, etc plus another new tune. disc 4 would be unreleased live stuff. either an entire concert or songs taken from various shows over his career.
