Amsterdam 2011 - WAITING FOR BLACK CROWES

The Donkeys Forever, Rolling Stones Tribute Band from Milan Italy will play in Amsterdam, at the Maloe Melo Club, on Saturday July 16th, the night before the Black Crowes show at Paradiso!

A great party and an opportunity to hear good stuff from the Stones (and Crowes of course!) in the heart of the Dutch capital

Just unearthed this superlative cover of the Velvet Underground song, "Oh! Sweet Nuthin'" via Lou Reed's website. This is one of my favourite songs of all time, so what a joy to discover this.

Only a week to go until the two BC Shepherd's Bush Empire shows, YEAHHHH!

Cheers,
SonicD

Finally got a ticket for tonight's 2nd London show. Can't wait.

Last night's set list included:

Remedy
Whoa Mule
Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You
Ballad In Urgency
Wiser Time
She Talks To Angels
Oh! Sweet Nuthin' (all above songs acoustic)
Thorn In My Side
Oh Josephine
Hard To Handle
Goodbye Daughters Of The Revolution
Boomer's Story

19 songs in all. The Manchester gig and two before in Bilbao and Italy were much shorter apparently.
Really hope to hear some Stones covers tonight though I'm sure we'll never be treated to that amazing set at the Fillmore before last Christmas where they did 6 Stones covers.
Also be great if they did Go Faster but I don't think they play that one too often.

Great show last night but strange set list - not too many warhorses! At times they were very similar to the Grateful Dead with long drawn out jams.

The cover of No Expectations was as good as the version at the Fillmore before Christmas last year.

So that's it now - no shows for a long while after this tour finishes.

A question for Crowds fans more knowledgeable than I am... Compared to the show I saw last fall, Luther & Rich have switched sides of the stage. Most bands I know of don't do this. Is this common for the Crowes? Thoughts?

Peace

Look out for a mad Irish David Crosby lookalike with long white hair and white beard, a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and tell him I said hello.

He's there both nights and will be hard to miss.

No this a very new development for the Crowes. Rich has always played on the right. At the Fillmore shows he switched to the left and history was made. Rumors were that he could hear the bass better. And there were some rumors that he wanted to be farther away from Chris, but I don't by it, they were all smiles and laughing at the Fillmore shows.

Nice show yesterday evening. Fantastic rendition of Just Wanna See his Face. It's quite weird to hear 1800 people singing along on a track I thought was obscure. Wiser Time was fantastic as well.
