So my wife shot her first video on her iPhone 5 in Nashville on the walkwalk and is trying to figure out what to do with it. So got it on YouTube but the orientation is wrong, probably the way it was shot. Maybe a stupid question, but is there anything that can be done to change the orientation now? Did it come out this way because of how it was shot, or how it was uploaded?

You are correct, the phone was held in 'portrait' mode, not on its side 'landscape' . There is software that can correct it, I use PowerDirector 13 which allows me to rotate videos. I recall seeing somewhere online that does it too, perhaps Google can help.

It is also possible that the orientation is wrong but that you recorded correctly. Is the image technically a widescreen (landscape) video but is simply rotated incorrectly? Google's camera app had this problem pretty bad at one point.
