POST: USA Zip Tour, What songs played so far you want to see again on a DVD?
Posted by: midimannz ()
Date: June 25, 2015 23:21

Hello friends, I trawl through the show updates from across the other side of the world in New Zealand, reading the comments as if I was there. Rarely does someone comment on an exceptional performance of a song. Have there been 'memorable' versions you could tell me about?
I would love to get the clips and make a DVD for y'all smiling smiley

Moonlight Mile has been great every time they've played it as far as I can tell. Hard to say which one has been best but probably not the one where Mick forgot the words. smoking smiley

The rendition of 'You Gotta Move' in Atlanta was remarkably faithful to the studio version.

.....

I Got The Blues (Fonda 15). I had tears in my eyes it was awesome. I really don't like the woman it makes me think about (babymamadrama).

Midnight Rambler (Nashville). Ronnie was soooo ON IT. Top 5 Ramblers ever.

Just like a black girl should.

Thanks.

Tim

Got to go with a smoking Bitch in Dallas, and You Got To Move. Moonlight Mile and Rambler have been the steady anchors night in and night out throughout the tour for me. Having Keith play slide on the 12 string acoustic on You Got To Move and You Got The Silver would be wise to keep in for every show.

There was only ONE reasonable video from Rolling Stones, Atlanta 2015 gig of this song, the colours were a little 'extreme' from the video screen so I had to do a bit of creative editing to create this clip. Hope you all enjoy "You Gotta Move"

I think it is!

Very nice edit midimannz: you do this for a living? If not: get started!
I'm a director/producer in my own small company so I'm not the best professional available here (our Hatfield Media connection Drake aka flacnvinyl on IORR probably is) but this looks very good to me. Nice you gave it an intro of a minute with Mick getting to the song. Also giving time to be able to see KR playing his 12 string is very nice. I like the easy going edits like this, taking your time as an editor and viewer to see and enjoy what's happening. With the difficult material available you made something very very good out of it!

Do you only do residential? 21 yrs? you should have a few properties, a nice house, a couple of really cool expensive toys and some bread in the bank.

I am fumbling and you know my car wont start.

Thanks.

Its nice to see many of the tapers getting movies of interactions between the musicians, it's easy just to follow Mick around. Thanks to everyone who shares their clips with us in the first instance!

Keeping it on topic. I would love to see IGTB again.

Yeah midie, you got some expenses, however, you could still have some nice things. I got a couple of exes that are still on the Tit. But F-ck it, I still do OK. I go to Stones shows and tell you that the best song so far on this tour has been MR in Nashville. Ronnie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We bust another bottle.

Thanks.

Tim

Moonlight Mile is better now than it was in 1999 on No Security Tour. In Pittsburgh it was great as was Paint It Black. More uptempo than played a couple of years ago, not quite as good as the Licks Tour, but still better than two years ago and glad they are playing it more in line with the tempo of the studio version.

Rambler will always be one of the best they do live.

I have found that the song "voted" by the fans is usually the most interesting. Since they don't play this number every night it can be an absolute train wreck. Usually though they really dial in and play the hell out of it so some nights it can be the best song played.

Rocks off un Dallas was flawless, Keith was brilliant and Mick's singing on it was the best rendition of this song I've heard so far.

You Gotta Move - Atlanta was really great. Dead Flowers is always fun. Wild Horses - Nashville was terrific. Never understood why Beast of Burden and Street Fighting Man are not warhorses - typical crowd favorites.
