Still not high def, and somewhat abbreviated, but a better copy of the
Satyameva Jayate video than has been heretofore available:

Your kidding right? This is 33 years old, and meant to please a very specific segment of fans (like me).

Superheavy will attract Stones fans, but they presumably will be in the minority of supporters.

Some Girls in Texas is interesting only for diehard Stones fans who're not SuperHeavy target group. SuperHeavy listeners are pretty young in their majority.

Yesterday whilst drving through my little town in central Mexico, the 'cool' radio station played Angel of My Heart, followed by Miracle Worker. I'd heard the SH song a couple of times before, and had been non-plussed, but it sounded pretty cool. It was actually a bit of a thrill to hear Mick come in, and the instrumental parts toward the end (guit and sax?) sounded a little mid-70s, a little reminiscent of Black and Blue.

Maybe it was just the sunshine and the hot mexicanitas clouding my judgement...

I don't know for sure but that's what I think based on comments on YouTube and SH FB page

SUPERHEAVY, ‘I CAN’T TAKE IT NO MORE’ – SONG REVIEW
by: Matthew Wilkening 34 minutes ago

Mick Jagger stands front and center on the new SuperHeavy single, ‘I Can’t Take It No More,’ leading the band through a rather straight ahead, horn-charged rock song that attacks corrupt politicians.

Unlike the shared vocal spotlight of this extremely diverse supergroup’s first single, the reggae-heavy ‘Miracle Worker,’ this track serves as a solo showcase for the legendary Rolling Stones lead singer, and that’s a good thing. After all, who in the world would you rather have at the microphone?

After a rather over-dramatic vocal introduction, pop singer Joss Stone settles into a role in the background.

It’s logical to assume Eurythmics guitarist and producer Dave Stewart is behind the two nicely contrasting guitar lines — one big and crunchy, the other clean and echoing — that take turns supporting Jagger’s raspy political rant throughout the proceedings:

“All you scurvy politicians / When you’re in our position / You’re promising this / You swear you’ll do that / You all sound like magicians / I can’t take it, take it, I can’t fake it no more.”

Really, about the only thing distinguishing this from a late-era Stones song is the trippy, exotic little keyboard parts (courtesy of Indian film composer A.R. Rahman, we’re guessing) that pop up from time to time — and really, that’s not out of the range of Mick’s other band, either.

So, if this was the first song released, you’d wonder exactly how much of a collaborative effort the upcoming SuperHeavy album really will be, especially since there’s no discernible trace of reggae star Damien Marley on here.

But then again, we did already hear the much more inclusive and slightly more exploratory ‘Miracle Worker,’ didn’t we? It makes sense to reach out to Stones fans with a familiar-sounding song, and perhaps that’s exactly what’s happening here.

Thanks for posting, ProudMary. Nice Stones-ish rhythm guitar from Mick. Good vocals, just wish the lyrics had more bite. Then again, I doubt Mick wants another "Sweet Neo-Con." Looking forward to hearing more complete songs. There are some keepers to be sure.

Thanks ProudMary. I'm really looking forward to this album now. The review talks about Stewart's guitar but I wonder if one of the guitar lines is played by Mick.

The one that sounds Stones-ish is definitely Mick. He plays the same riff a few times on PRIMITIVE COOL. "Warring People" by the way sounds a bit like "Kow Tow."

I thought the same thing...I would bet Mick is one of the guitars.

That's 3 for 3 for us.

We have so far liked the full tracks for Miracle Worker, Satyameva, and
Can't Take It much more than the excerpts.

Still don't think Can't Take It will wind up as one of our favorite cuts,
but at least its moved from the "maybe" column to the "like". We now
think its convincingly Stonesy and will help all SuperHeavy's young
dance/groove listeners appreciate classic rock a little. As well as
make all classic rock listeners feel welcome at this here party.

We've still got three more "maybe"s with everything else firmly in the
"like" column. Pretty damn good.

Ah yeah. What the fcuk is going on?

All you scurvy politicians
When you’re in opposition
You promise me this
You swear you’ll do that
You all sound like magicians

I can’t take it, take it, I can’t fake it no more
I can’t take it, shake it, I can’t fake it no more

You got ruthless ambition
Crying endless contrition
It really gets my goat
It sticks in my throat
You're defying demolition

The stink of corruption
Gets right up my nostrils
With your head in the trough
Your snout starts to froth
You're gonna blow like a volcanic eruption

I can’t take it, take it, I can’t fake it no more
I can’t take it, shake it, I can’t take it no more
(I'm gonna break you. No trouble.)
I can’t take it, shake it, I can’t take it no more
No more, no more, no more

Dave Stewart is coming out of the shadows

By Scott Kara 5:30 AM Saturday Sep 10, 2011

New Zealand Herald

Excerpts:

Stewart is very dry, and he's also somewhat of an eccentric with a doesn't-
give-a-hoot, casualness about him as he talks openly about everything from the
Eurythmics and some of his dodgy musical projects over the years ("I've ended
up down the wrong alley, basically because I've been too adventurous" ), to
drinking too much ("Oh, I've got a hangover, I need to drink some coconut
water" ) to his new project SuperHeavy and his first solo album in 13 years, The
Blackbird Diaries.

The latter sees Stewart step out of the shadows and put himself in the limelight
- and he's playing solid blues rock of all things.

Though Stewart was born in Sunderland, in the northeast of England, it was
country music, the blues, and a combination of the two that he first started
playing on the guitar. "But I never really got to put them to use - because I
got into the Beatles, David Bowie, and then I joined a band, went this way and
that way, then the Eurythmics - until I went to Nashville. And I thought, 'Oh
yeah, I know how to do this'."

While The Blackbird Diaries is a more personal offering, SuperHeavy is at the
other extreme - mainly because of the big names involved.

Stewart is typically flippant about the project, which takes in the straight-
forward chinking reggae soul of first single Miracle Worker and, by all
accounts, elsewhere is a mash-up of dancehall, rock, world and Rahman's
off-kilter beats.

"We just wanted to experiment and create something with different cultures and
musicalities, and we did it for the fun of doing it because a lot of time you
are on the tread-mill of touring and playing the hits, and blah blah."

Stewart has known his bandmates for years. He and Jagger go back 25 years
("We've written about 50 songs together over the years just for fun and we did
the score to Alfie together" ); the pair used a young Stone to sing on Alfie, he
met Marley when Bob's son was 9 ("because I have a place up in the hills in
Jamaica away from the tourists. I know Damian's mum too" ), and he met Rahman 12
years ago through film director Shekhar Kapur whose work includes Elizabeth.

"So it looks like, 'Oh, they just all got together', but I've known all of them
for years.

Excerpted, via Google Translate, from Le Figaro Sep 9, 2011:

A young man of 68 years began a new career. A year before the fiftieth anniversary
of the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger launched his new band, Superheavy...

Nike shirt and pink jeans and jacket style Saville Row, the star says having to
listen Superheavy Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts, the Stones, his colleagues, who
"liked", but no enemy to his brother Keith Richards, which he said transition have
not read the memoirs published last year, not tender for it. For him, Superheavy
was a unique experience, "not a commitment for the rest of my life." He can not
imagine touring, "saw our agendas," but maybe a few concerts.
