True but there's a fine line between rough and under-rehearsed slop. The downside of these shorter tours is by the time they really get going it's over.
yeah..personally I like it on the slightly less over-rehearsed side..
but under-rehearsed is unacceptable.
seriously I think at this point they try out songs that they probably wont play anyway..
and then theres the possibility of Moonlight Mile..
that's exciting..
they have lighting and stage cues to work out plus possible new backing vocals...
what else..?
most of these songs they can play without too much rehearsal..
kinda like when you write your name..

One time I shook his hand and he said "ow, you hurt my hand". He had a show the next night so I was all apologetic but he was probably just having a go at me!

Is MT the contingency plan when either KR or RW cease being functional? FWIW, KR doesn't seem the same since falling out of that coconut tree in 2006.
Might be a case of last man standing as they all hit their 70s.

If someone is unable to play, they cancel the tour that's all. If someone is unable to play, they cancel the tour, that's all. Not a probleme for me I've stopped to see them live since 2007. Only waiting for the opening vaults, all the rest is cooked in the microwave.

There are different kinds of sloppiness as well.
On the first Euro show we got trainwrecks like Can't Be Seen, but otherwise a pretty solid show. Some songs where they were on top of their game (ATDL, WAY, LSTNT).
On the last show in Roskilde there were no trainwrecks, but quite a few bum notes here and there. Some of the tension and energy from Oslo was lost in places.
Both shows were great, though. I wouldn't worry about the opening show, as long as Keith's not planning on trying out a couple of obscure songs
