A woman where I work is from Nepal & has much family there. She has started a crowd funding effort. If not here, please support the relief effort where you can. The devastation is enormous.

Hopefully some light will shine on these people during this tragic time.

The video of the avalanche hitting one of Everest's base camps was scary.

I have been involved with an orphanage in Kathmandu for several years now. Their building is ruined but they all are uninjured, 22 kids and the adult couple who run the orphanage. I was there a month ago. Now they are living in a makeshift shelter out in front of their building. I received a call from the director who told me that their section of the city has yet to receive any help. Thankful that they are safe but a really tough situation for them and so many others in Nepal.

Depends which bit of it you want to laugh at... But remember that bragging about how much you donated is not a part of British culture. Whatever Mick has or hasn't given personally, he won't be talking about it.

By the way, the DEC appeal is now £33 million and counting.

Hey I just quoted what Mick said.
He obviously is in a position to make a donation
and when he says that I would assume he did.

I don't give a fu-ck about how much he has donated, the man has no sense of decency at all.
Even if he makes huge donations it won't change his jetset life at all anyway?

The lady I know is from Kathmandu originally. Her immediate family has survived but there are many relatives that they can't find or get in contact with. I was just trying to put a little awareness out there & maybe do a little good. I'm sure Mick had the same intention.smiling smiley

I'm glad you did. When it fades from being a major news story, there still remains a shattered nation, death, heartache, and the monumental task of rebuilding.

I gave what I could. It didn't change my lifestyle.
I gather Chelsea Grrs finds that disgusting. I can't help it.
All kinds of blessings on the people of Nepal.

Read my posts properly, I talked about Mick Jagger's lifestyle and now you write something about your own donations? You don't have his lifestyle I guess? Did I mean that Jagger has no sense of decency just BECAUSE of his "charity behaviour"? No, obviously, so don't play dumb.

Cheers and good for you,
I also gave what I could afford too... every little bit helps.

I can not imagine what it would be like to have my house come down and then live in front of it in a tent.

I apprecitate very much crholmstrom and Mick reminding people to maybe give a little. Mick he does not say a whole of things like this and he didnt get preachy... just a reminder... good for him. He is a very decent man, a class act.

Think positive. Don't attack other individuals. If you don't have anything nice to say about a person then don't say it. Thanks.

No I guess it won't. Does it have to change his jetset life? If yes: why?
There are plenty of people who never change their jetset life and don't make donations. And there are people who do change their jetset life but don't make donations.
Are they less decent?
How long is the list you have to check every day?

The difference between you and MJ indeed is you "don't give a fu-ck".
