Do'h I just watched it on TV last Monday...

Oh - this is really sad. I'd say that Edgar was the father of so called Krautrock, pioneer of synthesizer bands and also one of the inspirations behind what would become techno.

I was lucky enough to see Tangerine Dream's first ever London gig back in 74 at Victoria Palace and quite amazing it was too. RIP Edgar.

This is one of the best albums. Minimal yet adventurous and utterly compelling.

Very sad.

The Tangerine Dream Facebook page says:

"On January 20th, Tuesday afternoon, Edgar Froese suddenly and unexpectedly passed away from the effects of a pulmonary embolism in Vienna." He was aged 70.

RIP Edgar Froese - and Thank You for the Electronic Sounds.
