I totally disagree TOD, because I've seen the amount of beer consumed by these crazed " fans" who cheer and scream at EVERYTHING and there's a direct correlation between booze and screaming! You can disagree but alcohol does remove inhabitions and that's simply a fact. Look, I scream and cheer too, I don't sit there like a zombie, but constant screaming is distracting for those fans who actually want to hear the music...you actually disagree with that??

In 1982 at Wembley it was wild down the front. At Twickenham in 2006...as soon as you put seats in people want to sit down...all the way through the show.
At Twickenham in 2006 (actually my first Stones show) I had a seat way up in the nosebleeds - and what hit me was that the moment the first notes of JJF rang out, the whole section (me too) was instantly on its feet and stayed that way for the next 2 hours.... Maybe there were parts of the stadium where people stayed sat, but not where I was.
These days I do appreciate having a seat available, but I don't usually spend more time sitting on it than I can help.

My first show was the second Twickenham show in '06 and I was shocked at the tepid reaction The Stones got from the crowd during the first half of the show. However as soon as the warhorses set in everybody rose up and started swaying and cheering the band.It almost seemed like everything was premedicated...

Some may sit, and some may stand.
I will always stand and rock out.
I don't really care about the others around me so long as they don't get in my way!
It's not my job to make sure they have a good time, that's up to them!

Not true; In Atlantic City people were awestruck by Jaggers vocal performance. I was shocked too. People have posted about this already.

And nobody booed, skipstone (unless you were there somewhere doing your best to make yourself heard). Quite a lot sang along - or tried to - although clearly most didn't know it.

it's a well-known fact that people sing along to songs they hate. it's therapy; a coping strategy.
