Yeah, we're rock cousins coming from the same place - Stones music influencing our own original material - that's rather like the Stones drawing their influences form the Blues guys and Chuck, don't ya think?

Long time no post (I think my ban is lifted)
Anyways,I re-joined 'Goats Head Soup' in December (a Canadian Stones band that been around since 1991). Since we decided to do original stuff for the first time I've been in the band we changed our name to The Powergoats.

David said he had a song for me to work on, a bit of a 'Brand New Car' vibe, so I went with that for the vocals - the '94-'95 period I guess.

David and I decided to post some fan exclusive material as we close in on completion of our upcoming disc, Chrome Libido. You can stream the new tracks until your heart's content, but we thought we'd only have finished material for downloading. First up is Stuck Out, a tongue-in-cheek country flavoured stomper. Deep Love is next, an extended dark, bluesy jam.
We've been getting some podcast play, and our hits and downloads have been tallying up nicely! Getting fan support from other musicians here in reverbnation is also a great feeling. People from other countries are starting to discover us - so thanks everyone! Please feel free to leave us feedback and comments - we'd love to hear from you all.

Just a note to let you all know about The Powergoats' new free 'cyber-single' called Stuck Out. The 'b-side' is called Deep Love, a seven minute-plus creepy/bluesy number with David sticking me on slide and lead guitar. We'll see how that fares...

It all sounds good to me.
Original songs are hard to write really, 'cos you have to get the song to stand out straight away. To do that it has to sound slightly familiar but also very original at the same time. That's hard to do. Try it if you don't believe me....
